Looks fantastic! I can't wait,,, I love the ability to use the guns and plasmids without doing the switch.  the fire in the air traps, could you do that in the first one? I played the whole thing and never tried that, it looks like it'd make those waaaay more useful.

Looks awesome! I like that you're not the same character as in the first game, gives it another dimension.

I think it looks cool but grabbing atom and defending did not appeal to me for some reason. Everything else looked AWESOME though. So since your the 1st Big Daddy then I am assuming its a prequel. I think it will be pretty cool if you see your character from 1 in some shape or form.

y'know. that's what i found strange.

they said it was many years after the 1st Bioshock. but how can that be if you're the first big daddy.

It must therefore be a prequel.  but if it's a prequel then how come you don't see any of these big sisters in the first game.

I like the idea of gathering ADAM from dead enemies while defending because it's accurate with the gameplay of the first BIOSHOCK.  it makes sense because thats what a big daddy does. it wouldn't make sense if you saved them.

I kinda like the defense idea.  It forces you to think more about the environment you're in and the plasmids you would use for traps.  I didn't really use traps too much in the first one.  Also, it makes a lot of sense, considering you see a lot of big daddies defending a lil sister in the first game, now you jump to the other side of the fence.  Its not a prequel either, its a sequel, and takes place several years after the events of the first game.

wow shadeblack you totally beat me to it with almost the exact same comment.  You didn't necessarily kill all the big daddies in the first game, just all the ones in the areas you went to, if you desired.  Maybe he was swimmin' in the ocean the whole time.  Trust me, you would have known if you fought one that could use plasmids, hes a survivor that one.

Shade – About the sisters I think that will most likely be what the whole story is about, how they ceased to exist or at least left rapture. I like the idea of defending and it does of course make sense but the traps did not interest me. Who knows, when I actually play it I may like it we shall see.

But how can you be the 1st big daddy and it be a sequel and your in rapture? They show you waking up with ten talking to you. Where were you during the events of the 1st game?

LOL i know that BIOSHOCK 2 is set several years after, but do you remember the part where you see a big daddy walking around in the ocean?  and looking at this vid when the (first) big daddy enters the ocean, looks into a room and sees someone moving around. hehe.  would be a nice tie in, wouldn't it?

The first Big Daddy EVER is the one you play in the game…. i guess he was asleep during the first one? it is a sequel, it takes place AFTER the 1st one, its an even more beaten down rapture, AND you can free roam in the water which is awesome. Now we can see even more of rapture…..
i wanna get it just for the story!!!!

Dude think about it.  When you play the first game many areas of rapture are breaking apart, barring your way to a lot of the city.  Looking through the windows you can see a lot of areas that you never reach.  Also, the big daddies can go many places a normal person cannot, like roaming outside in the ocean.  Given that, there are many places the original Big Daddy could have been that you simply never explore in the first game.  Since the developers say the other unique thing besides his ability to use plasmids is that he has a mind of his own and can think for himself, it would make sense that he's smart enough to not make his presence known unless necessary.  I really don't see any holes in that story.  My question is how did the lil sister that turns into big sister get out of rapture in the first place?  It seems like they're mindless adam hunters who wouldn't have thought of escape in the first place… and on top of that, where'd she get that really unique looking suit she wears?

I don't see a problem story wise it was just my first impression. There are tons of ways it can be explained I am sure and you gave one.

What threw me off was how the preview started and Ten was like “Wake up” and what she said about your time for sleeping is over etc. You look at your hands and have trouble standing. Its like your first time being conscious in that body. I watched it again and your even looking at your own reflection. It is misleading.

So maybe you slept through all of bioshock 1?
