a good fps should give you 100+ hours with online, look at cod4 i must have spent 200+ hours on that
im hoping killzone 2 will be the same

yeah, and i've got nothing against it really… but it's the same thing over and over… with and old-school RPG, it'd be something different all the time really.

Yeah you'd have to do loads of battles, but the development of the characters and new moves and such keep those characters and battles alive and different.

FPS is indeed pretty awesome and online even better… Well, that's questionable according to taste and preference.  BUT, an RPG simply gives you more, in the sense of Volume.

wow… are people actually saying fallout is hard?

it's the easiest RPG i've ever played!  the quests are NOT entirely free roaming – you get told where to get with added marker points on your map.  you get tonnes of experience points to level up with. (i'm glad they are thinking of raising the level cap to 30).

Seriously, this game is easy and the trophies are very straightforward and don't take much effort at all.  However, they DO take some time to do.  if you're patient enough to play it, then you haven't a clue what the hell an RPG is!  why don't you guys go back to snes, where RPGs took hundreds of hours to complete!

Seikendensetsu for instance is probably my favourite and one of THE BEST RPGs out there.  I'm only angry that fallout 3 doesn't have ENOUGH to do.  it's too short!

One last comment, this topic went way off track.

I remember spending hours upon hours doing the 99 level random dungeon in Lufia trying to get all the blue chest treasures and beating the massive red jello. Then 5 hours go buy and the power goes out with nowhere to save! Aw devo.

I also spent close to 200 hours on Final fantasy 10 completly editing the sphere grid and maxing out all stats just so i could defeat Penance…..and i did lol

Anyone know where I can find the schematics for the Nuka-Grenade? I 'accidentally' killed the woman who gives it to you.

i haven't used any of the guides yet, and i've got most of the trophies.  it's a very easy game. maybe i should have stuck it on hard or very hard :S

some trophy locations though is what im using the guide for.  i don't have the time to look in EVERY location, so for the last few trophies, i'll be using a bit of the guides.

Using a guide isn't that bad. walk trough whole the map and I still didn't find all the locations and I didn't wan't to walk it twice

the first time I played it it didn't have trophies so i had to play it allover again and to get all the trophies i have to play three times

well , when you cant find stuff….lets face it , some places i would never have looked otherwise. (and it was real helpful getting nuka cola quantums for the quest) to be honest , ask your mates or a guide , whats the difference ?

yeah , who has time to walk around the wasteland when killzone 2 so close …. guide was good to find bobbleheads , schematics and behemoths… i think they should have made Explorer perk available from a low level , not only from level 20 (by that time you're almost finished…)

im not saying there is anything wrong with using guides, but i prfer to play the game first, then use a guide later if i still need something when i've finished it.  i got about 40 trophies without using a guide to begin with.

i just think they are not needed and that they take a lot of the fun out of playing the game.  the time i spent getting the last few trophies while looking at a guide was NOT enjoyable.

yeah , no prob , i know what you mean…i got most of the trophies without guides , i think i just get a little touchy on the subject of fallout , my only plat…Embarassed …playing with a guide is kinda like going back to school and doing homework…

OK i started over again,

i was doing the GNR quest but i had hardly any health, no ammo, and RAD poisoning so literally 10 secs after the game loaded up i would die and i stupidlly overwrote all my data so i could not go back

i have just fineshed the father mission and by god it was long and i got sidetracked by that little boy so now i am doin the quest with all those fire ants which i haven't bothered to try recently because it is very hard they just do not die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Use your vats and target their heads. Explosives are good against them. Aslo sneaking and getting them shot in the head without them being aware helps…You could always put the game on 'very easy'

today i've become fed up with this game and it's bad quality i payed £45 for this i've nearly done all the trophies but i skipped a few early quests trying to discover 100 locations it made me do tranquility lane cos i stumbled upon vault 112 or 114 wichever it is anyway last mission with that big robot liberty w/e and it freezes at the same point everytime meaning i now have to go to a friends house sign in as me and use their copy just to complete it i mean cmon i wanted the moment i completed it to be a special moment where i could feel i'v acomplished something not a moment of relief where i cant wait to get to game to sell it for £12… EFFORT!

@Smarto
I`m sorry but i completely disagree with you! I think fallout 3 is an amazing game, ok it does have its bugs and the odd glitch or two but don`t all games? also there is so much freedom in this game no constrictions like GTA4, all the multiple endings etc and the platinum isn`t hard just a bit time consuming but when playing this game you won`t care how time consuming they are because of how great the game is! And what do you mean by bad quality? the fact it isn`t all colourful and loads of trees? please remember the game is set after a nuclear war and isn`t very bright and cheerful for some reason….

If anyone finds any of the trophies hard or confusing to obtain try out my trophy guide on this website, i tried to make it easy going so anyone could understand it. and yes the trophies are time consuming but at least you get a sense of achievment when you do eventually obtain them, unlike with some games where pausing the game is worth a trophy

Woah, slow down there my friend. I also completely disagree with your statement. Fallout 3 has got to be one of the best games I've played yet. Yes, I will admit that it may have minor performance issues, but these issues no way spoil the overall game. The graphics are good, the gameplay is good, the combat is good, infact the only thing i hate about it is when you walk miles being followed by a damm radscorpion, turn round and it scares the crap out of you lolz. But still, I suppose it's a bit like Marmite. “Ya either love it or ya hate it”

1) fallout 3 is NOT crap.

2) if your struggling with it, you obviously skiped the begining and didn’t chose youre skills wisely.

3) if your having a hard time Bcause of difficulty issues, pause> gameplay> difficulty > 0—<>«———100

4) if U find walking is boring, Map> (neerest area to or your destination)

5) if U think the first cupple of quests are hard wait till your fightin a sqaud of enclave wen the only things U got are a baseball bat, sexy sleepware & sum bramin meat. all the while a prik in a white coat unleashes project x on ur ass ie. DDDDD DEATHCLAW!

6) get up off ur lazy ass n do it urself or trade it in so another person can have the fortune of finally obtaing fallout

change is inevitable
