now thats some good news (kinda) but now lets not get the word `set` confused with the word `released` remember gt5 was set for a late 2007 release date, but yh when this game comes out its bye bye social life and hello camel backs/porta loos and salty snacks
also i have loads of ifo of this game on my ps3 sent from my GA, will post later when im online and not downloading the BFBC2 demo

“Fallout: New Vegas is not being made by Bethesda's in-house team, led by designer Todd Howard. That group, which has worked on one big game at a time, from Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in 2006 to Fallout 3 in 2008 appeared to be on an every-other-year pace for game releases. The Fallout: New Vegas announcement, however, would appear to leave Bethesda less room to launch a second major game in the fall, something the company hasn't done before.”
It'll need a tad more convincing than a robot sifting through some dirt and a “shady” figure before i jump with joy… If it has some sort of MP i'll be delighted though (shock) as it's about time, and we ain't got much if anything like that yet… Borderlands is about the closest, no?

“Fallout: New Vegas is not being made by Bethesda's in-house team”
To be honest, this may be a good thing. The DLC for New Vegas might actually work if it's made by a different company, unlike Fallout 3's DLC. Fallout 3 was way to glitchy and buggy.

Bestheda made the two best RPG i never know ( Fallout 3 and Oblivion). So i dont see the reason why you dont want bestheda to make the game. And yeah i have to agree that DLC of Fallout 3 was litle glitchy but it was awesome. Try Oblivion and and then say if you like Bestheda or not.
Bestheda should make this game cause they do really good job with RPG

I'd say they got that from Fallout 3
Or, more likely, Fallout 1, where the phrase began.
This new Fallout is apparently being made by the original team, so it should have a proper fallout feel to it.

some new info
hardcore mode sounds very interesting with the need to drink water and ammo weight being taken into account

Yeah, the hardcore mode sounds good. I wouldn't mind if they just added the eating/drinking thing into the normal mode, to give some actual use to the masses of food you'd end up with (i did on fallout 3 anyway). It'd be pretty cool if they added a lot more creatures than on Fallout 3, so you could play the game for days and one day come across a brand new creature. They also need to keep the huge variety of guns.

hadcore mode doesnt really interest me, i never played harder than normal on fallout 3 because otherwise you levelled up to quickly and asted loads of ammo, i wouldnt like the idea of being forced to eat and drink when the game wants you, tihnk i'll keep that mode of and carry on collecting my tins of pork and beans and nuka colas thank you very much!, however having different attachments for guns would be handy, its fallout so anything goes id imagine (who's up for a bubblegum chrome pink sniper with under barrel grenade launcher over mounted flamethrower and side mounted alien blaster?)
what id like to see;
more creatures? yes please, perhaps have different ones depending on the time of the day (come on pokemon did this 12 years ago)
more cheezy post war music is a must, in particular id like to see `in the year 2525` if you havent heard this classic before http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..zQB2-Kmiic lyrics suite fallout quite well
a bit of green trees and stuff would be nice, read the link earlier, seems there'll be a lot more to look at
a proper casino, gambling with behemoths, enclave a few slaves and a ghoul? sounds good to me perhaps even toss in a ghoul stripper…..or not
some form of transport wouldnt be too bad, but i feel it may ruin the feel of walking around not knowing whats going to come next, so i think id rather not have that
online co-op would be nice, but fallout 3 was great without so, once again not needed
more ridiculousy over powered guns (still loves his Experimental MIRV Fatman)
how bout some tv in your house? (assuming ther is a house) i mean im pretty sure bethesda would have some great stuff to show….
no level cap would be great, just the game, a shitload off unlocks and no social life…
man all this talk about fallout makes me wanna play it lol, think i'll go on it tonight

A collectors edition has been announced by Bethesda, here is what your getting…
- Seven “Lucky 7″ poker chips, each chip representing one of the major casinos along the main strip and around the Mojave dunes.
- A “Lucky 38″ chip (made to look like a Platinum coated quest item found in game).
- A themed deck of playing cards, featuring lots of character art from the game. There's also a rule-set for a game called 'Caravan'. A completely new game created for New Vegas, also featuring in the game itself.
- The hardback graphic novel “All Roads” which acts as a prequel to the game (It's written by some of the folks at Dark Horse comics).
- A making of DVD with stacks of behind the scenes footage and new interviews from Obsidian and Bethesda.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/produ…..r_name=2-2
Nothing as cool as the pip-boy Bobblehead, but I'll still be getting this… I think this game is gonna be what everyone wanted Fallout 3 to be, and were disappointed it wasn't. The team behind it has had more time to work with the Ps3 and say they've sorted a lot of the “bugs”.
Larry Liberty (Lead Producer)
The engine itself was first used in Oblivion first, then moved over to Fallout, so i don't think the engine was made to be a Ps3 engine from the beginning. It has been a challenge, but it works well now, especially with the new libraries that help to enhance performance. (PSM3 mag.)
With the addition of…
Weapon upgrades; Three per weapon, cannot be removed and reused, and apparently having a noticeable change to the look of the weapon… Along with all “special weapons” looking diff. to the standard version and some having a special V.A.T.S attack.
The Reputation status; No more skipping time a few days and going back to a town you “accidentally” shot someone in the back of the head, lol. You will actually have to work to get back into NPC's ”good books”
Less browns, more greens… New and tougher enemies… More “interactive” locations… Gambling… A Better story (hopefully) – Your a Courier, shot twice in the head and left to die at the side of the road… I can think of at least a dozen questions to ask just from that short sentence.
And oh yeah, “Hardcore Mode” – Firstly, kog, are you kidding me man? One thing i didn't like about fallout, besides all the lag/bugs/problems, is how it didn't really feel that RPG'ish… I didn't really feel a connection with the char. as such… All i had to do was push a button to heal occasionally.
Bethesda should have called it “RPG mode” – Having to eat/drink/sleep, for me, will make me “feel” much more like I am the char. Having to manage my ammo/food/misc. weight will add to the realism of the Fallout world. For me, in a RPG weight is something i manage closely anyway, so in Fallout 3 I always had masses of empty space. I think a few of the ideas were brought to light through people modding the game, and it's pretty cool of them to factor those elements into the game.
It might make it a fraction harder but not overall.
Hardcore mode will be awesome!! As will the game!!
I can't wait for this, i put so much time into Fallout 3… I'm so hyped for this game, more than words could express, so i won't try…

@ kog – I can't seem to find a UK version anywhere… And trust me I've looked, lol… There's also gonna be a trophy for “Harcore aka RPG mode”- Gold i'd imagine
I could only find a listing on Amazon(dot)com, but the DVD wouldn't be PAL The thing to remember though is the game ain't out for about 5 months yet, so the CE won't be available for pre-order until they start producing them. I'm guessing September or something?
Also, if you ain't getting the CE (shame on you) there are diff. game unlocks depending on where you pre-order.

As much as I am looking forward to this game, I can't help but think it just looks like a big expansion for Fallout 3.
I mean, I know they are, in essence, the same game but a different setting, but because of the lack of solid gameplay footage, I can't see any drastic changes.
