Where to bring the star bottle caps:

Sunset Sarsaparilla Headquarters. It's just to the west of the strip on the outside. Like if you've discovered the NCR Sharecropper Farm or whatever, it would be exactly on the opposite side of that. You have to talk to this creepy cowboy thing in there named Festus.

I can't give a lot of detail about it though, cause I haven't been there yet and I don't have 50 yet. I just looked it up in the guide cause lots of people ask this question.

Thanks for that, i have 30 atm :)

So… I am i the only person who just isn't 'feeling' this as much as F3 then?

I'm not sure if it might be 'Hardcore' mode, but i just don't seem to have 'caught the bug'… I just don't think the Mojave desert can stand up against 'the wastelands'?

TBH i think i preferred the dark, empty, grey and 'unknown' of the wastes, and I'd say the story was played out better in F3 also. When i played F3 the 'side quests' just seemed to blend into me finding the facts of the main story, it all seemed one fluid game. Once you get to 'The Strip' and talk to Mr. House you pretty much know 99% of the story… I hope there will be a couple of twists in the story but i'd imagine that's pretty much it. The side quests don't seem as natural to the game

The trophies are better (longer) and give a chance of a replay with a diff. char. build but after playing a game for 100h+ and then starting again from scratch can be rather boring… Demons Souls was awesome as it let you start a new game with all your equipment and stats, meaning the game only got better the more you played it… Meaning you wanted to play it more and more…

I'd have to agree with Ninja and say this does just feel like an expansion pack from F3, with a few new ideas and also it's own set of new problems… Never in F3 did i see a bunch of NPC's 'clump together, never have a got stuck in the scenery as much and my favorite 'glitch' so far must be when my companion Rex, who i'd left a million miles away turned up in a Vault i was exploring out of the blue??

This needed to feel new and better, but IMO it's almost a step down from my experience in F3… I think a new Oblivion game with trophy support would have been a better option.

Ok… So i'm only Lvl18, but having to periodically go back to the lucky 38's PS to drop of some of my loot, sleep, drink and eat is a a bit of a pain!! I know i can eat, sleep and drink on the go but it's the weight limit that kills me – Half way through looting a building and you find yourself over weight SadSad

The missions I've done so far have been meh… And i miss the super mutant behemoths, the Nightkin suck!! Where i found myself intrigued with F3 i find myself a little bored with F:NV… I also dislike that one second i'm laying waste to a whole den of Super Mutant Nightkin and the next i'm being beasted by a couple of sh!tty ghouls!!

I keep mentioning DS, and i know the games are so very completely different, but after playing such a 'small' and simplistic RPG that was so freeking awesome!! I've came to learn that bigger is not always better in the RPG world?!

Fallout 3 – 9/10

Fallout:NV – 5/10

I'm away down river to 'The Fort' so things might be away to pick up? And i guess when i'm Lvl30 i'll have the freedom to go anywhere… Perhaps 'Hardcore mode' effects the game more than i thought it would….

Anyone else have any thoughts on Fallout:NV now that you've played it a bit more??

@GHOST – That exclamation mark thing happened to me yesterday and it's because I modded the gun. I guess the game doesn't know what to do with that. So you just have to delete the DLC, go into the game, have your items automatically taken out, then save, redownload the DLC, go back, have the items automatically put back in, then save and you'll have it back to normal. Also, I think you get 50 free 10mm rounds and maybe 5 free Stimpaks. You don't get two vault suits or two canteens though.

@Doc

I've played 70 hours or so of F:NV. As much as I can get lost and distracted in this game exploring, I do agree Fallout 3 was better. The storyline in NV is just terrible. All 4 story arcs are similiar. Sure, there are heaps more side missions that get reported back to you at the end of the game, but I'd still prefer if the main game had more substance, plot wise. I was so excited in goodsprings to figure out the plot with your murder and the Platinum Chip, and after i discoved that out i was just 'Meh'.

Hardcore mode does take away some of the enjoyment. After i finished one of the story arcs i reloaded a save and turned the darn thing off!

The game is full of small glitches, not game breaking, but glitches none the less.

I always have 2 companions with me and treat them like pack mules, each holding more than 200 weight. I prefer the Brotherhood Safehouse as my store house, as its quicker and easier to get to. I have a riot shotgun and that thing owns just about everything. My Reinforced Mark 2 Combat Armor looks silly though.

Oh and i have no doubts that they're making another Elder Scrolls game. I pray that the glitches and freezes don't get passed onto that. Oblivion was awesome, and it rarely froze on me. The only glitch i remember was the vampire one on the GOTY edition.

Has anybody else run into the Glitch where if you have ED-E as your partner and fast travel, ED-E doesn't follow and disappers forever and not allowing you to recruit Rex? Cry

I read, might of been here somewhere(?), that ED-E can also glitch if you go through two doors in quick succession without waiting for him…

This (F:NV) is like one of the best worst games i've ever played, lol Teasing

Your right in that assumption because I went through a door and then immediately outside of the place I was in, then fast travelled to another location. I had a human companion with me and he followed me the whole way but ED-E didn't follow me and now I cant go in to visit the main story characters because the game still registers ED-E as still being in my party. Cry I can only do the side quest which are slowly ending.Sad

About the E-DE problem:

According to the Fallout wiki, going to the bottom of the Jungle Vault (forgot wut it's called, the one just west of the strip) via the elevator will make the companion spawn in front of you when you reach the bottom. I don't know if it works though.

When i first went searching for all the companions i looked up on the internet for how many there were. The official Playstation Blog said there are 8.

Source

http://blog.us.playstation.com…..tion.Blog)

BUT, for me the trophy unlocked without recruiting Veronica. I couldn't find her at first so i was a bit worried. So i went to recruit everyone else first then worry about her. The trophy unlocked after recruiting my 7th. Anyone else have this happen?

@Ghost Your sure you didn't tell him to wait somewhere and forgot? Or entered someplace you couldn't go in with companions, which makes them wait at the entrance?

Awesome Confused

Just like the gameConfused….

————————————————

All New Vegas makes me want to do is play F3, seriously. I still own the CE guide for F3 and I'd almost rather read that than play this. Let's face it people, the game is, for me anyway, the biggest let down of 2010 thus far…

Old ideas with a bad story and just doesn't work like a PS3 game should. What exactly happened in the two years between games?? I've read half the textures etc. are the same as those used in F3, the game suffers from the same 'glitches' and i can't remember reading about 'game breaking'  glitches a week after F3 was released.

A patch fixing (apparently) over 200 quest and scripting(spellingSurprised) errors. But none of the 'real problems?? [Can't even proof read the script, WTF!!!]

DLC a month after the main game? Perhaps someone should be thinking about 'fixes' rather than money… Even the CE F:NV guide is pretty bad compared to the F3 one… The game (F:NV) is supposed to have more quests but the guide is 10 pages down and thinner than the F3 guide… You know why?? Thinner paper and smaller print, that sh!t just makes me laugh… In a bad wayFools What happened to the quality??

Ok so the CE of F:NV is better… The packaging and content i think are more 'CE-ish'  if you get me… It's just a shame the game and CE guide suck… You know… The most important aspects!! I'm sorry but a 'big metal poker chip' – essentially just a bit of metal, and some other crap - won't make me notice that two years really don't seem to make any difference!!

The plastic Pip-Boy figure i got with F3 CE is still better than anything included with NV… You know why? Because:

  • Pimp stuff + mediocre game = meh!
  • Mediocre stuff + pimp game = Pure awesomeness!

TBH i've not played very much of NV… And it ain't because i've not had the time.

Basically -> What. The. Fu*k? (Rant overAngry)

—————————————————–

My friend said he e-mailed Bethesda, i laughed my ass off…

I can also remember saying how much better than F3 this would be = I failSad

——————-

I hope someone tells me I'm wrong and why… Because I've thought about it and decide I'm not impressed one bit with NV – It's pretty boring and meh!! I loved F3, it was sooooooo good.

Just think about seeing Megaton blowing up at night in F3, awesome LaughLaugh

I'll obvioulsy play through NV but i'll have a Cry about it all the same…

Yes, the game is very glitchy, but i wouldn't say it's a major letdown. The story in F3 wasn't exactly epic compared to other games, but i still think it was enjoyable. It's the same with NV. I think it's gameplay makes up for it's story (even though I haven't yet completed it). The exploring and the RPG side, and the scavenging is what I personally think makes Fallout. Yes, the game engine sucks, but who cares. Just keep autosave on, and the game is fun. I'll admit the bugginess is annoying, but i think you're knocking it just a tad too much. Give it a month, and hopefully the glitchiness will be fixed.

i'm pretty sure because, I went to the Legion HQ and I cannot enter the hut with the leader bc it says I have a companion with me when I clearly dont. One of my friends said the problem can be solve by waiting for 4 consecutive days. It's consecutive day #14 and still no ED-E. SadCryFoolsAngry
