I thought it was supposed to be the same character as the first. Regardless it looks pretty sweet.
It is the same guy, he just grew hair and they changed his voice actor but he still looks awesome to me and it looks like were in England for this one
It can't be the same guy. That can't be Cole. He sounds gay and he's just like Drake. I mean, where's ALL that seriousness from the first game?
****SPOILER ALERT He could be the nemesis Kessler revealed in the first game's ending. (youtube.com/watch?v=VQnyxRa9vIg) SPOILER ENDS**** This could actually be a prequel to the first inFamous.

This should be good... When the first Infamous got released it was riding alongside [PROTOTYPE] and i think pre-release everyone was on the fence as to which was the better?
Although IMO Prototype was more fun to play, Infamous is the game that seems to have “won” the right to a second go… I didn't really like the graphics from Infamous for some reason, but with a decent amount of money thrown at it (another benefit from being “better”) this should turn out pretty impressive…
I don't think it would be a sequel as that wouldn't really make sense i don't think. Not with Cole as the main Char. I mean – Kessler came from his present time to his past, Coles' present, to try and prevent something that happens in Coles' future… And they are the same person…What happens to Cole – Kessler training him, is the beginning of what would have been if the time-line had not been interrupted – The marriage and the meeting of “the beast”. Perhaps not as fast, but it would have happened.
With the clever use of story the game effectively becomes it's own “prequel”. I think you'll play as “the beast” and the same karma-esc plot-line will be there, introduce elemental style attacks… And (written in white txt)
**You'll end up fighting Cole (as a good or bad char. based on your karma) as a boss possibly a final boss? – Depending on how you play, “good or bad” with the new beast char., would give openings to both endings from the first game. It would have a slight grey area but the stories would blend into each other almost seamlessly, and Cole could “power up” as a possible side-plot to the main story of the next game - Cole as final boss!? **

Looks pretty good, but we need to see more of it. Like actual gameplay.

It has to be Cole because I don't think they would make a prequel of the first one when he gets his powers the last game and people grow hair because it doesn't take place like a week after the first one because it's in the future and if you go on IGN and write down InFamous 2 it will show under the name this is what it says.
“Infamous 2 opens in Empire City as a massive explosion rips through the town signaling the birth of a new evil. Nearly escaping death by the dark entity known as The Beast, Cole flees the city. Upon leaving, Cole discovers that The Beast has destroyed Empire City and is heading down the coast annihilating everything in its path.
In an effort to stop The Beast from destroying mankind, Cole heads to New Marais in search of a scientist who is believed to hold the key to defeating this dark entity. As the mystery of The Beast unfolds, Cole must learn to harness his powers for the sake of mankind.”
“inFAMOUS 2 starts off where the first left off – Cole is already a superhero, but during the course of the game you will get to build up his superpowers to tackle a monster bent on destroying the city. So in a sense, you become a super-super hero. New weapons and parkour activity is promised while you bulk up on your lightning skills.”
How wrong can i be, lol That'll teach me for not properly checking it out first

I was highly disapointed with the new game announcements for E3, then they said Infamous 2, and I got all excited… then they showed “Cole” and I lost all interest.

I couldn't care less if it's Cole or not. From what I played of the first game the guy wasn't really a character worth keeping. My main issue with the trailer is how singularly unimpressive it is.
The graphics and character movement look dated and the set design looks as bland as the first one.
I bought inFamous because of the hype surrounding it's release, played it for one day and it has gathered dust on my shelf ever since. Everything the game did was being done better by someone else.
