I'm not the most knowlegeable about processing power etc. but what i really want 2 no is if a proper real time strategy is a realistic possibility on the ps3.
I was always a fan of the old 'age of empires'  and games like that, and would reeeealy like 2 no if this is a possible game that could be released. I bought civilisation revolution, which i am not that impressed with. Maybe if it had trophy support i could play it more, but there is no compelling factor for me too. Tbh, it could be a worse game, its just i wanted to avoid the turn based monotony of it, which i'm sad 2 say it has.

Correct me if im wrong but isnt pixeljunk monsters a RTS? also i think theres command and conquers red alert 3, tom clancy’s endwar and savage moon, or are these games a completely different type of genre?

Endwar and Stormrise are definatley Real time strategy games , lol although niether are any good

Theres a new game coming out called R.U.S.E that might be what your looking for, but i dont know, check it out

to be fair, the best realtime strategy game was Total Aniniolation. Who played this? And if you didn’t, you should!

Lol yeah it isn't like games where, when u get shot all you need to do to heal is hide behind something for a few seconds!
The original Age Of Empires was my favourite. I like the Campaign where u start out as just a priest and you have to convert guys to start off. My Favourite.

I heard the Army has the best graphics. However I also heard that there is no resawn points, so if I die thats it… So if I get lag out there I'm dead!

I'm waiting for Starcraft II. Damn if only they'd put that out on PS3! Instead, I need to buy a new computer for this game, which I've been waiting about 10 years. RTS games are definitely possible… the real question would be is a GOOD RTS possible? which I beleive whole heartedly it is. The real problem for a console was never the processing power, but the control scheme. However, with the USB ports you can pop a keyboard and mouse on that bad boy and we're good to go… so now the real question is,,, why don't we see any good RTS on the PS3? Hopefully that R.U.S.E. game will break some ground

The PS3 runs on cell processors. Stanford University are using PS3s to fold instead of supercomputers. and you're questioning if a ps3 can run a strategy game? PCs can, so why can't a ps3?

so umm… no, the ps3 can not produce anything like that!

pokenny – checked the website, it says RUSE is RTS. so,,, unless they are falsely advertising
shade – thats awesome, I want it! god if only windows 98 flight simulator had looked like that, I might have been flying by now!
