do the upcoming zombie PSN titles look 98% the same? Zombie Apocalypse (due out 09/24/2009 for PS3, 360, and PC) and Dead Nation (no release date and PS3 exclusive) both look like Burn Zombie Burn, but with more “realistic” graphics…
i've reviewed the preview footage for both and they are strikingly similar, in fact the only real difference i can spot is that ZA appears to be more arena based and has 4 player multi player, and from what i can gather about DN, it only has 2 player multi and seems to have more of an open look to the levels.
both are top down shooters, presumibly dual analog controlled by the look of things..
i just find the lack of originality in the titles kind of lame.. anyone have any thoughts, corrections, or anything else to add/say about this?

i noticed that after i posted this.. lol
and parnakas, while i agree that most FPS are the same in game play, there are few that are nearly carbon copies of another game or each other (unless its a franchise sequel..), like these two games appear to be..

I've been thinkin this for a while, cause a friend of mine is really excited for one of these new ones (I forget which one… gee I wonder why),,, and I said to him, well why don't you just get Burn Zombie Burn? Its the same thing… He uhhh… really didn't have a reason to choose one over the other. I'm confused but at the same time these arent the first PSN games to do this. BlastFactor, Geometry Wars, SuperStardust HD all look the same to me with different graphical styles. However, upon playing them you find the subtle nuances in rules, controls, and gameplay that make each of them unique from eachother. Just because someone did it already, doesn't mean someone else can't do it better. However, with any of these I'd get one and thats it, cause I do likes my variety.

very good point, that is an aspect of the games that i hadn't thought about.. hopefully there will be demos for both (however unlikely that might be) so that the game play differences can be tested before purchase..
