Was surprised Emdeepee didn't start this once the game was announced? Lol, Em's always on top of this stuff.
Anyways, the game looks phenomenal but am I the only one looking forward to Rising: Revengeance more??  Personally, Raiden is one of the best characters and he's the dark hero I've always wanted in a story. Have to finish up MGS4 before Rising: Revengeance comes out!  Need that game done before I can move forward in the franchise!!

Ha! You're right there. Unfortunately my laptop broke a few days ago so had to wait a while to get back online.
Back on topic. Raiden's cool but not as much as Carly Rae Jepson

Not being a massive tech head I can only assume that the footage shown is direct from the FOX engine and won't look quite as impressive running on consoles?

It's actually being played on the PC on High settings or something. Think I saw it on IGN's website? But yeah, it probably won't look as good as this but it'll definitely blow us away on consoles. Just look at Battlefield 3

Does anyone actually know what year this will release? I doubt it'll be 2013 (and on PS3 if we have PS4  ) but I'd hate to have this just “working on” and we'll never have an announcement of it again…
Maybe I'm just taking it too far but I mean, look at Final Fantasy Versus XIII…

Here's the “Extended Cut” demo that wasn't shown in the others. Features driving, shooting, etc. It looks good and towards the end gave me a chuckle, you'll see why.
This might be a stupid question but who is that in the burned guy in the video? Is he a character in the MGS universe in past games or something? I've only played MGS4 and Portable Ops, so…

Have you guys seen The Phantom Pain trailer that came out a month ago? I told gr8 it looked exactly like a MGS game with even the entire MGS fan-base lusting to it, but he was on the fence until more evidence appeared across the net. Is there a possible connection between both games and if so, where would it take place? I'm not a big MGS fan and with it's convuluted story, I've had trouble keeping up with who's betrayed who, such and such, but would this be after 3? Or would this be a Ground Zeroes set piece? It's hard for me to tell, as you know why, and I'm also wondering if this will be a dream sequence or something since there's a focus on horror here, or at least elements of that.

Yeah, that's pretty much right. If it doesn't have anything to do with Metal Gear, then whatever, I may or may not get it. If it is tied in, then I'm getting it for sure but still skeptical. Either way, it's piqued my interests and like you, I really want to know where this would fit in on the MG storyline or hell, if it's MGS5! For now, my hype compass is still pointed at Ground Zeroes.

From what fans have been speculating, it seems to fit right when the Les Enfants Terribles experiement was occuring. From what I've personally speculated, this could probably take place sometime before the staged demo for Ground Zeroes was shown, since Big Boss' arm was fully covered, same goes for the later installments of the series.

So it's been announced. Seems roman numerals are the new “in” now, for some idiotic reason? I'd actually opt to see just a 5 or something however I'm not sure if that means Metal Gear Solid 5 or Metal Gear Solid V (as in the actual letter, not the roman numeral) since at the end of the trailer, V has come to, the hell does that mean?
I'm assuming The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes are virtually the same game. I mean, The Phantom Pain has to be the main game while Ground Zeroes is the tutorial (prologue/training grounds of the title).
Also, I gotta find Kojima's iPod or something! This guy usually can find some good ass music, if you ask me?!
