Create a new user profile on your Ps3 to use for when your trying games out; so you don't load unwanted trophy lists onto your own profile.Then rent them both and have a proper play.
The games are so diff. it's difficult to choose… In what aspect are you speaking about? Playability, online, creativity, longevity, replayability, styling, skill set, etc.
Overall? I ain't played Skate 3 to judge…
And i find the track creation in MNR gets my attention than the SP, I've only done a handful of races (It's not as good as Mario Kart) and i LOVE building tracks… But learning all the tricks in Skate and pulling off some crazy combos is always rewarding…
Trying them both is a “fail safe” method of choosing… And logical

MNR is a lot of fun, and if you just want to play skate strictly for gameplay, you can pick up Skate 2 for really cheap, which is essentially the same game as Skate 3 (Sorry to piss anyone off, but come on..).

I own both and while they both have there flaws Skate 3 is the much better game of the 2, MNR has the most ridiculous loading times I have ever seen (LBP never had this problem and there essentially the same game except LBP was platforming), the gameplay of MNR is not that smooth (especially online) and the online itself is a complete wreck. In the end it's up to you and they are both enjoyable games but Skate 3 is definently better.
Edit: also skate 2 is not the same as skate 3, this is coming from someone who has played all 3.

Well i have decided to buy MNR as i have skate2 & im only 6 trophys away from the platinum but i have to start from scratch on the story because i lost my data awhile back
EDiT- but i will get Skate3 when im done with skate2 because i do love the skate series thank for your help

Mitch, your going to say that the MNR online is a complete wreck when the Skate 3 online is, in my opinion, the worst off all three. I love Skate 3 but the online Never works and when it does its laggy as sh!t

That's because it's your opinion not mine mate, I have not really had any problems with the skate 3 online thus far.

i haven’t had any problems with MNR’s online & iv been playing xp races & splitscreen online & im glad i got MNR becausea couple of people on my friends list cant even connect to S3 online
