I really need a new game and with a huge amount of games out and coming within the next couple of months i don't know which to get. I've got really bored with FPS's at the moment and am looking for something completly different. Any help will be greatly appritiated.

Red Dead Redemption is going to be a great alternative to GTA IV. Of course God Of War III is an easy choice for PS3 GOTY this year too. Darksiders is a great Zelda alternative too.

Go with GoW III or FF XIII. Both are awsome  .

I have never played a Final Fantasy game and os don't know what they are like so im not sure about that. But with God of war is it nessecary to have played the first two as i live in europe and it doesn't look like we are going to get them. (possibly import).
Also seen guitar hero world tour for £30 at HMV don't know if thats any good.

This is another topic that seems to be recreated once a week…
anyway – plot wise – yes you will want to have played the first two GoW games. It will also serve as a good way to get the hang of Krato's move set, since they button layout is pretty similar throughout them, despite changes to moves and magic that he has. The third game (IMO) is also more difficult that the other two, so they're just a good warm up. I was under the impression the collection was supposed to release with gow3 in Europe, which is today. I could be wrong.
Otherwise – Infamous, Batman AA, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, WipEout, Burnout Paradise, Tekken 6, Soul Calibur 4, Brutal Legend, Red Faction Guerilla, Heavenly Sword, Resident Evil 5, MGS4, Assassin's Creed 2, Bioshock 1 and 2 (oh shit that fps, but its really different from all the others!), are all out and great. Coming up I'd keep an eye on Modnation Racers, Dead Space 2, L.A. Noire, Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (although I'm still skeptical about that one), … and thats about it for me. With GOW3 my video game wish list has been completed – but 2009 was a great year in gaming, nows the time to get some of those gems at a reduced price.

GH:WT is pretty damn crap if you ask me.
And about God Of War. No, its not necessary to play the previous ones, but it would help to understand the plot of the story. And they are fantastic games as well, also very cheap.
But if you don't play the first two GoWs, i think you'll be alright, as long as you have played other hack n' slash games that rip off GoW. Also, there are a lot of flashbacks in GoW3, explaining the story line, and some events from GoW1&2. So you'll be alright.

do you like football?
fifa 10 would be a good idea if you do as you'll hardly get bored of it coz theres loads of gamemodes and now theres (imo the best dlc to date) ultimate team out for it as well.
its the only game i play now.

i do like football. But from other friends that have the game they say that the servers sometimes kick them out of games mid way through. Does this ever happen to you? I have the original fallout 3 but is it worth buying the glitchey GOTY edition or spending the extra money on purchasing from the psn store. (if so which are the best).

If your into RPG's get a copy of Demons souls – Import the Asian one… Epic!!!
The DLC for Fallout is alright, but i'd say Borderlands is better… But Demons Souls for sure…

yeah i think the servers have only did it twice to me, in the past 2 weeks and thats because of ultimate team and loads of people playing it. trust me, you'll be fine and since you like football i reckon you'll enjoy it, and theres fun trophies as well btw.
