Seeing as Heart Gold and Soul Silver are going to be released super soon, I thought it's be a good idea to post a Pokemon thread for us to chat about our love for the epic series. I've spoken to a couple of guys about it so I know a couple of you on here like Pokemon. They are epic games; I grew up with them, like a lot of you probably did.
I've had pretty much every one apart from Pearl and Crystal, only because crystal wasn't released here in England.
So who is getting HG or SS?

it is a great game…I played the original Green version in japanese. i just wish they would make pokemon o-n-l-i-n-e.
think about the world for a moment.
in an MMORPG, similar to WoW, you could challenge online players, find and capture every pokemon by traveling to different regions in the world.
it would be so much better than just re-creating the old games.

Hi, my name's Doctor_Rock and I'm a PokeAddict.
Not so keen on the latest ones (Peal, Diamond and Platinum) but I do still play Fire Red and Leaf Green on my surviving Gameboy Advance. Shadeblack, I love the idea of Pokemon online you could even travel around together too!

well ive been playing heart gold and soul silver for the past two days now (USA versions!), and their pretty good but annoying as hell theres an anti piracy thing on all current roms on it and it crashes the game every 15 mins on my r4 1.18, thus affecting my gameplay a lot, my team is nowhere near how id like it after 2 days (only late 20's), ive gone back to platinum until they sort this out, (my team is almost perfect on that), will post teams if anyone is that interested, also if anyone has any questions on HG and SS please ask, as seeing i appear to be `fortunate` to have been playing it prior to release, admitedly americans can now play it legit and crash free but oh well

well i would love to get HG or SS….buttttt i dont have a ds, and the game. unless i got one for cheap . I've had almost all of the games but, Green, FR, plat, diamond, or pearl. lol just a few. I still play the pokemon games (mainly emerald cause it's my fav). i just bought red and blue yesterday. I have always loved the pokemon series though. I have also caught almost every legendary pokemon except mew, articuno, & ho-oh

well you could play it without a ds providing you have a computer and run no$gba 2.6a set to the right settings and the corect patch, and also the correct roms of course

I will grab HG and my bro will get SS. And then again he will take all my hard captured Pokemons so he can have full PokeDex. I hate him so much .
At this point I play Leaf Green just because I'm bored at work .

If You mean Red and Green released on Game Boy then no . I played them as well.

just got heartgold today i'm at ecruteak city, i'm loving it so far it's so awsome to be playing through johto again with d/p's graphics can't wait till i see the legendary beasts and ho-oh!

Well, I played Red and Blue, but never got my hands on Green. Should we talk teams? My dream team was always.
Charizard, Dragonite, Nidoking, Gyrados, Raichu and Pidgeot.
Never really liked the legendaries tbh.

The only one I owned was Pokemon Silver on my old gameboy colour.
I played it soo much I wore out the save function on the game and I lost all my save data.

i usually had different teams while going through the game.
but my usual would be:
Dragonite
Alakazam
Machamp
Starmie (the best elemantal in the game imo).
Scyther
Arcanite

hmm i can post a guide on getting it working if need be, and pokemon red and blue were great! loved yellow aswell!
might aswell do this; my preferred team for 1st gen
Charizard
Snorlax
Dragonite
Pidgeot
Magnemite
Gyarados
My current team on platinum
Typhlosion lv 56 (in training)
Driflblim lv71 (gold/shiny, took loads of breeding and EV training to get him how i wanted him)
Shaymin lv71(have leaf for sky mode aswell)
Luxray lv71
Giratina lv 71 (sometimes replaced with electivire lv 74)
Gastrodon lv 70 (my Hm slave)
in storage, amongst other i have
Gastrodon + Gardevoir lv 80+77 (my fave combos)
Shiny lucario lv 65
Loads of legendaries, such as jirachi, mew, celebi, deoxys (speed form), rotom (grass form), a grey entei. phione and others
also got a lv 85 black charizard
…guess i have a large collection if anyone has platinum, feel free to exchange id's to do the fighting thing (not sure how it works personnally)
