Well socom is good if you're in to squad tactical first person shooters. The only problem about playing socom on the ps3, is that not alot of people have mics. Mics are a must when playing this game. What works so well on the 360 is that most bundles come with a mic.

how can you say that socom on the ps2 was the only reason to hook to internet and play it online and its got a pretty large fanbase

The last total I saw for Socom 3 sales was just under a million copies sold in the US alone. The first two sold twice that.
That’s quite a few people that care.

A more relevant statistic might have been the number of PS3s sold in the US. It’s just under 12 million which means nearly 10% (rounding up) of American PS3 owners bought the game. For a title that’s in no way a blockbuster that’s not too bad.
