I just want to know how many people one here bother with them, before most say that it's just a way for the companies to make more cash yes that is true but some of the collectibles are awesome and there's no denying that.
My collection this year consists of:
A Nathan 'RAD' Spencer action figure from Bionic Commando
A Alex Mercer action figure from [Prototype]
A Combat Walker from Red Faction
By the end of the year these will be added:
The Night Vision Googles from MW2 with the stand and artbook
A rare “Master Assassin” Ezio figure from AC2: Black Edition plus the artbook
A Seraphim figure from Sacred 2: Fallen Angel
A Tekken 6 100-page artbook and a customised Tekken 6 arcade stick
A Baterrang from Batman: Arkham Asylum
Sorry for the novel guys i was just interested to know your thoughts and if any of you's have a collection.

when mw2 comes out there will be 3 different editions… normal, special and prestige…
Normal: just the normal game
Special/ hardback: comes in a hardened metal case with a art book
prestige: well it comes with the same as special edition with extra art books and of course the googles

Ps3 Freak, you are incorrect. Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition includes the Steel Book Case, Artbook, a token to download the original Call of Duty, Headstand & night vision googles. Hardend edition just includes a Steel Book Case, a token & artbook.

I will only buy the special edition of games that include stuff that are worth-while, and i really like the game. Like the MGS4 Special Edition included some cool making-of videos, and a cool headset. Thats why i got it. I will definitely get the GoW3 special edition, if it includes GoW 1&2.
I dont usually think collector editions are worth it. I only have 1.. MGS4 Collectors Edition.
I may be getting the uncharted 2, and the Assassins Creed. Still waiting to see whats included in them.
I'm more of a fan of those Pre-Order bonuses.

I bought the special edition of Fallout…and then realized that all it does is collect dust.
With games now selling at 69.99 CAD, forking out even more money for special editions is just a waste of money.
What do you guys do will all the 'special edition' junk anyways? Does it collect dust in a box or do you have a shelf or 'show room' for all these things?
Good luck impressing the women with a collection like that. I barely get away with playing games, if I had a shelf of game related extras I'm sure i would be single….
ps. To you guys getting the Prestige ediiton of CODMW2, enjoy being single Nothing sets off the WARNING alarm in a woman more than a guy with Night vision goggles…. CREEEPER!
She's gonna think you perv at night into your neighbours windows at night.
If you're a kid. Enjoy that, NV is something I always wanted when I was a kid.

Thickbrow – i live in Ontario, i know what you are saying about games being $69.99, and its ridiculous.
Then you add GST and PST.. (ontario taxes) and your looking at $80.. ridiculous.
And i know a lot of girls that enjoy playing video games, so your little “single” theory is not true.

And I'm sure your a charmer with the ladies thickbrow joke… But seriously, what's wrong with video games? Saying people who enjoy video games are single is stereotypical…
And no, i dont really bother with special editions…

I never said that people who enjoy games are single Xero. Read my post again.
but i am a charmer with the ladies
I'm with you parnakas, I'll go for the pre-order bonuses or 'special editions' that give you special costumes/weapons/skills and other downloadables from the store. As for my 'single' theory. I am talking about the extras from special editions, NOT games themselves.

I have a plush Sackboy, and some of my friends that are girls think its awesome!
I have a lot of Led Zeppelin memorabilia.. and they usually get worried about that.. because i have a lot of stuff.. so i think girls just find anything that resembles an action-figure collection creepy. But those night vision goggles from the prestige edition are just plain creepy….

i think some of the special edition stuff just isn't worth the money, like the fallout 3 special editions (although i picked it up for £20 somewhere!)
but the special editions for gow for example are a must!
and im pretty sure if i had a plush sackboy my girlfriend would go crazy for it!!
she doesn't seem to mind the videogames or the videogame collectibles or the dead hookers in the basement…
