is that where your in an arena like place, and the two sides are currently battling when you walk in?
If it is, just hide right where you walk in, and wait it out, they will eventually die out. It might take a long time, but stay out of it.
The guardians will take out the guy with the Gau-19, then you can use that gun against one of the guardians, then pick up their crossbow, kill the next guardian, pick up their cross bow ammo, and repeat for the rest of the guardians.

Ha thanks man , ill try that on Friday on Hard if i get that far , because seriously like i was really getting bored . I didnt know either to kill them or just sit and wait . Because the Guardians died pretty fast and it was stupid Chloe and Elena VS A group of Mercenaries .
