I would say that Catherine is my favourite game this year, and one of my favourite of all time now. It is just so different and the subject hasn't really been done before, and it was done so well in this game.

I'm not sure if I could pick one title that blew me away. Apart from the fact that most of the games I've been playing were hanging around from last year, nothing from this year really stands out. I think Motorstorm: Apocalypse might get it simply for the vast improvements with the online.

Haven't been a big fan of the games this year , to the point i don't play near as much. If i had to pick one it would be Infamous 2.

It'd probably come down to LA Noire and Dead Space 2 for me.
If you put a gun to my head though I'd go for DS2. I know it didn't have quite the same impact as the original but I still enjoyed it 
Still plenty to come though.

I think it might be Mass Effect 2… I never played it on Xbox so it was completely new to me, amazing game… Still need to beat it on Insane 
Every game this year so far is, IMO, gonna get trounced by some of the games coming out in the second half of the year, beast games for almost every genre… And 2012 will be ridiculous for decent games

I think I was 1 of the only people who actually liked dike nukem for what it was, it was crap but entertaining none the less. But Catherine was just incredible. And the second half of the year will have way better games than this half.

LA Noire or Alice: Madness Returns, am I the only one that enjoyed Alice's story? 
Still haven't played Dead Space 2 yet & the Collector's Edition has been sitting on my shelf since January, my reasoning is the longer I wait, the less time I'll have to wait for #3, that is sane right?

ok so i know it didnt come out this year, but i played Odin Sphere a few months back and it was my favorie atlus game i have played by far. The art the whole game was gorgeous, and the way that the story line unfolded was really cool.
This thread was a few months too early. Skyrim, U3, BFBC3, and others are going to be way more epic than anything released so far this year ever thought about being.

I just pre ordered BAC and BF3, so before the triple A titles flood October and November my top 5 were
1. Mortal Kombat 9
2. LA Noire
3. Deus Ex : Human Revolution
4. Resistance 3
5. inFAMOUS 2
I haven't played Catherine, Crysis 2, DS2, or Motorstorm Apocalypse yet but I'm hoping to get those for Christmas so I can give a fair GOTY vote.

I couldn't really pick yet as nearly everything I've got this year is still sitting untouched. I have Resistance 3, Dead Island and Deux Ex all still in the plastic.
But so far it's been Crysis 2 and Motorstorm Apocalypse that have been top of my playlist.
