Alright I might sound stupid but I've been getting confused with the 3D games I'm definitely not getting a 3D tv but games like Killzone 3 will be in 3D so I'm just wondering is the game only in 3D or is there a normal version too? Btw the boxart for it was showned today

You can play it in non-3D and 3D.

Yea, you can play the game in standard or in 3D.
TBH, if Sony made games ONLY 3D, a lot of people would rage.. cuz no one is going to be getting a 3D tv any time soon.

Sony are really throwing their weight behind this 3D bandwagon. I don't know who they're shipping all these TVs to because I don't know anyone buying them.
I was in an electrical shop today looking around and they had a 3D TV set up playing Monsters V Aliens. I hadn't seen anything in 3D yet so I gave it a go…
Serious disappointment…
The 3D did give depth to certain parts of the movie but the picture never focused properly. I felt like I was looking through a pair of binoculars, trying to get my eyes to settle.
I probably will eventually go 3D, but I'll be waiting for vast improvements in the technology and a sever rise in support. At the moment the prices are high while the quality is low.

when it's done properly, 3d looks amazing. i've seen wipeout on a proper 3d tv and it looked breathtaking. on reflection, when it's done bad, it can be annoying, tedious, and degenerate the overall 'flow'.
this concept is easily applied to both films and games alike.
as for “would i need a 3d tv to play a 3d game?”
yes, but more importantly, you could still have the game and play it on a 2d tv. it just wouldn't be in 3d. an estimation would be that the system and or game would detect the TV's 3d compatibility.

Nintendo 3DS has stereoscopic 3D. I know that's not new, but it is amazing. No need for glasses (PS3D needs glasses PLUS a 3D TV).
Looks insanely good so far.
PS Move, on the other hand, looks promising (although it looks like a Wii controller). Sorcery looks very good.

I would definitely wait it out until this 3D technology gets perfected, and starts to get cheaper.
I just got back from Future Shop (Electronics Store) and the 3D tv looked pretty blurry to my eyes. I was squinting a lot, and I didn't really feel like it did a lot for the show that was playing on it. I don't really see a point of it for just watching tv or movies, but it could make the gaming experience better. Maybe..

Well, I just played WipEout HD in “3D” and it was meh. There was really no 3D aspect to the game. Nothing was even kind of off the screen. The picture was beautiful though, one of the best I have ever seen. It definitely made the game sharper looking, but nothing with 3D once so ever. So is it worth it? Not at the moment. Other than a slight graphical improvement, there was nothing really special about gaming in 3D.

You bought one? or was it at like Future Shop?

@DarkAssassin78 – No no, I played it at the Sony Store. No way in hell I would buy one. If you have a Sony store around you, you should go check it out. They let anyone watch/play with the 3D tvs.

I only just got a HD TV a few months ago no way am I getting a 3D one this soon especially as every 3D movie I have been to hasn't really worked for me just pissed me off that I had to wear glasses the whole time

I saw Motorstorm: Pacific Rift in 3D and compared to some of the films/shows I saw in the Sony Store it was dissapointing. I think it is because these were just patched. I expect games like Killzone 3 to be a lot better

With developers just getting to grips with the power of the ps3 i think HD gaming still has a long way to go… Perhaps not with pic. quality but texture, “on screen action” and suchlike.
Even LED HD T.v's haven't really gotten a grip in the market… Or OLED – just in it's infancy… I just don't see why Sony is pushing 3D… I won't be getting 3D for at least 5 years if ever, unless there is a massive price crash… Adding depth to games is cool but the 'cons' seem to outweigh the 'pro's' just now. A massive con is the price at the mo' 
I'll have to check it out at Sony centre to make any real judgement though

Well Killzone 3 should be much much better, but honestly, I think the technology just has to be given time to develop and be perfected or at least improved, because as it stands right now, 3D tv is not living up to what it should be.

3D bugs me
All it does is give me a headache. I will not be playing any games in 3D until I'm forced to or there is an actually room you walk into where all the walls ceiling and flloor are 3D TVs, no controllers necessary because the room senses your every action and you can't tell the difference between the game and real life except the fact that your life would never be as awesome as a video game (unless, of course, your playing E.T.)
