I don't know if there is a post about this subject already but I'm about to get my refund and am thinkin about upgrading the Hard Drive on my PS3 and wanted to know if anyone has done this which hard drive to buy and what speed (I heard 7200 rpm is good but I don't wanna fry my PS3) also I heard that getting the external is better because they're cheaper and because of that you can go bigger and it will work just as well as installing a new internal. Is that true??? I don't know if I want an external Hard Drive taking up a USB port I only have two. Any suggestions???

Its cheap, great storage, good speed, and again it is cheap. Never had a problem with the HDD. I have all the problems in the world with the Blu Ray drive. Hope this helps you.

getting external drives are fine, but you need to drag it with the ps3 everywhere you take it, so it's not a particularly good solution, more of a temporary solution.

I upgraded mine to a 320gb from here

and i love it! i even reviewed it on the site. i use a 1tb external drive for tv shows and movies, it is my media centre. hell, it is the centre of my entire universe lol.
i don't think you can download games from the store to an external drive.

It would be easier to do it yourself. It is super easy. I think I did mine in under 10 minutes. Here is a vid on how to do it.

It would save you a bunch of money if you went for the HDD I suggested and using this video. They were wanting alot of money to do it themselves.
