Sorry in advance as I know a lot of you have probably seen this question before but i really want to know.
I'm planning to get a new hdd 2moro as an upgrade. I know all the stuff about syncing the server on your psn so you can have the trophies, but here's my question:
Say I got 50% of a games trophies using a save file, then i copying that save file to my new hard drive using an external usb (my ipod) I know from experience you cannot copy files to other users to obtain trophies, the ps3 kept saying i didn't get a trophy. So if i start playing the save file on the new Hdd can I keep on getting trophies, or do i need to start again?

I did the same thing. I had earned trophies with my save file, then ultimately upgraded the hdd. I transferred my file over to the usb hdd, then upgraded the internal hdd, formatted the new hdd, restored all my original save files, and have kept earning trophies on the same games with absolutely no problems at all. Just make sure you format the new internal hdd after installing it before restoring the save files to the new internal hdd. You should have no problems, as I didnt. Hope that helps you at all

I had no problem either, the save files and trophies are linked to your psn id, which is contained on the ps3, not the hard drive.
what size you getting? i got 320gb, i know there are now 500gb available.

i got so pissed because my external HDD isnt FAT32 an my laptop couldn’t format it so i had to just start all of my games again
