I need help, I no longer like my online ID, yet I have a fair few trophies and I want to keep my rank on games like Uncharted 2 and COD, is there anyway I can transfer the data to a new account, or simply change my online ID, thanks.

Not that I know of. Xbox allows it all right but I've never heard of it being done on PS3 and I've never seen a tag on my list change.

If I have learned anything from my time working in the service industry it’s that for quite a few people, the basic theories behind the use of a toilet are absolute mysteries…

Impossible to change your ID Name, unless you start a completely new account. With a new account, you can change your name, but you lose everything from the previous one.
Sucks to make a new account. You can make a new one, and still keep your old one if you want to keep those trophies on your ps3.

It does bother me that I can't change my ID (every other poxy thing I have an account with does) but it does make my friends list a little easier to manage. On Xbox I would regularly come across “friends” and not know who the Hell they were.

Yeah you cant change Id's….I wish Sony would atleast allow you to pay to change it.
