Have you tried holding the “on” button for a few seconds till it “beeps”… If you disconnect your Ps3 you need to re-configure it's optimal output settings…

Other than that i've no ideas… You might have touched something interal you wern't suppose to by mistake? Zombie

Try using the original cable (scart) that came with the PS3 and check the source channels on your tv for a picture

It should work with the HDMI, if it's gonna work… I'll try and get a more informed opinion and write back…

*EDIT* Ninja'd – Was gonna check with gnilsia if he'd been on the thread recently but it seems he has…

I just tried the resetting video on my PS3 there and it took me a few goes to get it right. I presume your model is either the 60GB or the 40GB console. The steps for resetting are as follows:

  1. Turn off from the back
  2. Turn on from the back
  3. Press and hold the on button at the front until it turns itself on and then back off again (3 beeps and then 1 beep before it goes back off)
  4. Power off from the back
  5. Power on from the back
  6. Turn on from the front

This should display the video settings screen with your HDMI for definite. Try inserting a Blank DVD in the drive when in standby mode and see if it will power on the console from stand by mode and allow you to eject it again. When you put the console back together did you make sure to reconnect all ribbon cables?

@Rangefinder

Did you fix it yourself or did someone else do it for you? The wireless card is really easy to damage (I've seen one completely snapped off) and if you're not able to pick up any sort of signal then that could be your problem.

When you scan for networks are you finding anything at all? If you are finding a network but just not connecting to the IP then your card is probably fine and the network  (router) might just have the gay.

I tried scanning and it came up with the error code 80130128 and it doesnt find anything and i got someone else to fix it i didnt whant to risk damaging it but it looks like the wireless card must be damaged then, on top of that it takes an age for my ps3 controllers to sync with the ps3 could that be related.

If both your controllers and net are having an issue then there might be a problem with the motherboard because they have nothing to do with each other signal-wise. It could just be loose connections or a wire that was left unplugged.

It might be worth opening it up yourself and taking a look. If you just use the assembly instructions in this thread (skipping the actual YLOD fix) then you could spot something that was missed.
