wha? did you delete it or something?
if it simply dissapeared, then the only way to have a look is to take the HD out and stick in a computer as a slave.

if something disspears, it's usually a case of either: a string of random, or malicious code; or Bad HDD (bad sectors, health or fitness of the drive).
If it were me, and because I can, I would take the HDD out, put it in a PC and run some tests on drive. and also try to access it from windows.

you'll need anti-static kit if you are going to take out the drive. and also knowledge of PC insides.

i've taken out countless drives and not once needed anti-static stuff. though it probably is a good idea. i wouldnt try it unless you're confident you'll manage.
