I still can't believe that sony hasn't put voice chat into one of its updates because according to a few of xbox owning friends its one of the main reasons they chose it over ps3 so why cant they put it in. What are your thoughts on it?

They did Go on Start New Chat and after that Voice Chat
|

i agee that they need voice chat, i used to have an xbox360 (sold it all for ps3 as it kept on breaking) the best feature was being able to play different games to your friends and still chat to each other, playstation should have this support as well and should allow at least 4people in each chat, would make things so much better, my friend bought a ps3 yesterday and is really dissapointed there isnt a voice chat available while playing games

they should also allow you to do anything you want while in voice chat, including looking at game saves & settings etc, because if you go in voice chat at the moment you can basically do nothing at the same time

I would like the cruse the net whist your in voice chat… and besides it isn’t voice chat… It is video chat… which means people like me with a bad ‘Nat’ (what ever that is mine is Nat 3) can’t vedio chat with a lot of people…

they should add voice chat but as someone else said not enough people have headsets but i think sony should bring headsets out with their console perhaps wired ones and wireless come seprate and then they should add voice chat since i hate ttext chat your better of sending messages since you can fit mre words into message text only like 6 words

I was talkin about this some time, ago, and yh, it is the main feature on XBL not on psn. also, on XBL u can only private chat 2 1 person at a time (i believe ) i think sony should bring in a voice chat party, maybe 4+ people? When we talked earlier, we sed that:
- Not many peeps have headsets (i still think acctually lots do, and perhaps it would influence more 2 get them)
- Ps3 is unstable, lots of peeps experiance crashes of system when text chatting, so imagine wot a voice chat would do

your first point, yes a lot of people do. It wouldn't influence them to get them, it would influence them to USE them.
your second point, unstable? PS3 is one of the most stable machine out there. Not a lot of people experience problems when text chatting.

I still don't know… Why exactly, does it need voice chat? I've managed perfectly well without it.

Well, i dno about others but i have certainly experainced moments when my ps3 has 'died' so 2 speak Is it just me or have other people experinced crashes, especially in messaging people?

yeah, sometimes when i play a game and i recive a message so i press the PS button and and go to the message and press replay, and it frezzes, so i have to get out of the game and sometimes that dosnt work so i have to turn it off the HARD way, which is on the back of the PS3
I hate doing that!

There is an easyier way Domba… hold down the off button on the PS3… until it bleeps and it will shut down.
Mine also freeze sometimes during a message but never in text chat.
