so…. to me… this is EPIC.

If this really comes to fruition, sony is gonna completely mop the floor with the competition.  Not only does this mean we all already own the technology to broadcast the 3D images, but it will work with all the software we already own.  Thats a full new life for all the games we own and love.  It makes putting GOW1 and 2 in HD seem like a mere parlor trick.  Sniping in MW2 is going to be a whole new experience.  Watching the awesome cutscenes in Uncharted 2 is going to be glorious! I'm gonna need a bigger place, so I can buy another enormous HD TV, except that supports this feature.  This is going to be so unhealthy for me, I'm gonna be that bloated smelly fat guy with atrophy that I always feared I'd become, I don't think I'll be able to stop staring.  Uhhhh… does anyone else think this is the coolest thing since free sex was invented?

Well yeah, but 3D supported TVs already exist, although theres very few models.  If you have an HDTV already, a salesman may have convinced your parents to shell out the extra money for one that supports the 3D despite a lack of 3D broadcasting currently without them realizing thats why they paid extra money.  I know they tried it on me, and now I'm starting to wish I had.  Its still gonna be a full year I'm sure… go get a paper route ratchet and start saving dude, it adds up quicker than you'd think!

PS. Here's a quick site I googled listing TVs that currently support this feature… I guess all we really need is a firmware update and we're good to go!

Thats good to know. 3D tvs are barely out yet, and PS3 is already ready for it. So, if 3D becomes the future, like every tv becomes 3D, then PS3 is a huge step ahead of the other systems.

And BigWoop.. free sex? very nice.. but yes, this is awesome!! Can't wait to see where this whole 3D thing goes!

yup… free sex was the coolest thing I could think of.  I'm surprised actually, I thought this would be a more popular topic.  By the way, 3D tvs have existed since 2007, but with hardly any media to support them, they are hard to find, and pointless to buy.  It seems sony has realized they have the technology to remedy that.  Also, interesting note, 3D movies have existed since 1915.  Crazy, right?

Yea i knew that 3D movies have been around for a long time, but i guess people never got into them. THat should change, with all this High-Def stuff. I have seen a 3D tv back in 2008, and it was complete crap.. the quality was terrible, and it really killed your eyes. Not enough media is out for 3D to be supported frequently, but i think its picking up. I mean, look at how many movies are coming out in 3D.. there are a ton! More than ever i think, almost every movie is available in 3D recently. I would love to see a future of 3D.

Amazing!! I saw this on TV the other day, they talked about the PS3 using 3D in movies and games. The only thing is that you need to get a new TV but it's still Amazing! I'm sure some company's will start making new TV's when they hear of the news.
