Hi, I would like to know if there is any software that will allow me to capture video footage on my PS3, and maybe some screenshots.
(again I'm new, don't bash me if it has already came up)

there are only a few ways to do it i believe.
on eway is to hook it up to a video camera. but you'll have to play it by looking into the camera. the video feed goes directly to the camera in order to record, so the picture will not appear on your tv anymore.
another way is to record the cideo feed through a Digital HDTV Card on a computer. although, im not entirely sure how this is done because i've never tried it myself.
i don't know of any other way to do it, other than simply getting a camcorder pointing at your monitor. but this gives a terrible image and sound quality.
either way, you'll need to do a bit of research if you're looking to do this. if you do find another way to do, please share it with us
good luck.

i record my games, fifa is the best lol re-watching my best goals ^^ all you need is a TV, PS3 and a DVD recorder.
The way i have set my whole corner up now is….
i have my ps3 scart going to the DVD recorder (input), and the DVD recorder (output) connecting to my tv, again by scart cable.. was hard to figure out at 1st but its awesome now easier to do if you have a HD DVD recorder…just need HDMI cable then.. hope i helped anyone wanting to do this.

Here is my set up:
What you will need:
1. Computer that is close to your PS3
2. RCA Cable Double-Sided (About $10-$40)
3. Dazzle DVD Recorder (ABout $35-$50)
4. Of course your T.V.
The instructions on how to set it up will be on the Dazzle and any other questions could be asked on the official PS forums.

you really don't know what a scart is?
SCART (from Syndicat des Constructeurs d'Appareils Radiorécepteurs et Téléviseurs, Radio and Television Receiver Manufacturer's Association) is a French-originated standard and associated 21-pin connector for connecting audio-visual (AV) equipment together.
In Europe, SCART is the most common method of connecting audio-visual equipment together, and has become a standard connector for such devices (even more so than the phono plug)
