Today I replaced my old 80gb HDD with a 2.5″ Serial ATA 400gb HDD. After backing up my data from an external drive, everything appeared the same. However, when I tried to sync my trophies I kept getting an error code. A Sony Customer Care respondent said I should try restarting the system (which I did but did not help the situation). I tried switching back to the old HDD drive, but I still cannot completely sync my trophies. Popping in a game disc does give me back my online trophies, but I am still left in the dark for my offline trophies. Does anyone know what I should do or who I should contact for more advice?

I get the same error code when i try to sync my trophies…It has nothing to do with your new HDD. What i do is signout of my account wait a bit and then sign back and try again. Sometimes it works, sometimes you have to keep trying to sync the trophies. I believe it had something to do with the latest update that sony released b/c thats when the problem arose with me. Also, keep in mind the number of trophies that you have dictate how long it takes to sync.

A friend of mine recently installed a 500gb HDD on his PS3 and had the exact same problem as you . He first backed up all his data which i take you did too , once done he signed on and sent me a few messages saying how he couldnt sync his trophies or how some werent even showing up on his list . Waiting this out would be your best bet , keep trying to sync every hour or so , and eventually your system will get back to you , as my friends did . Also i noticed he popped in a few of his old games and the lists came back aswell . Hope this helps .

You can try today if you want…Last night my trophies were not syncing and i had to try about 5-6 times before it finally went all the way through. Is this the first trophy sync on your new HDD?

I tried syncing my trophies about 6 times already. The least percent is 5 and the highest I have gone to is about 15.

Wargeared Sniper: Popping in games does work, but only for the online trophies. My story-based trophies do not show up.

Have you tried ressetting your inernet connection (like your modem and router) and reset the network settings on your ps3?

I don't think it is your new HDD's fault.
A lot of people are having issues with trophy syncing, i can only sync my trophies once in a while, rest of the time i get an error.
This is a error on Sony's part, as the servers, where the trophies are synced with, is having troubles, and has a weak signal.
Give it some time, then keep trying. You should get it eventually.

you have to unplug your router and modem wait a minute…plug in the modem and turn it on, wait for it to set up …then plug in your router and turn it on and wait for it to set itself up…then go into your ps3 and run you network connection settings and connect to your network. After all that run a network connection test and see if you can get online and connect to PSN. If so, try and sync your trophies and see what happens.

trophies have nothing to do with ur hdd . trophies are linked with ur account . ur best bet would b to keep tryin to it goes through

Im having the same problem . Yestrday it took me about 4 tries to sync my Assassins Creed trophies , it finally went through . Its either goes to 70 % and gives me an error code or when it slowly starts progressing it usually works .

I'm still having trouble too. I've gotten it to sync once in the past two weeks. I've decided to just give up until the next firmware update, and hope that they fix it. Hopefully my HDD doesn't crap out in the meantime, which would be just my luck.

It's definetly the new patch. Sync worked fine bofe I did the upgrade. Right now I try every now and then and it works after few tries.

I had this problem 2 days ago. Just restart your PS3. Worked for me.
