A new record player
AC Brotherhood
Clothes
Beauty and the Beast on Blu-Ray
Dilbert Daily Calender
A new winter hat
and perhaps an Electro-Harmonix POG or Digitech Whammy. Not sure which one though, both are great guitar octave pedals.

A playstation that works or a company that doesn't screw you over when it doesn't.
I sent in my release day PS3 after it got the dreaded YLOD. Paid the extra to keep my console due to the B/C and extra USB. Of course arm and a leg and no data recovery. Let's not forget the amazing 1 month warranty.
TWO months later (now out of warranty) BAM YLOD again. What does Sony say? We will repair it for full price again.
F— Sony
They do so much right but when it comes to this part Microsoft is king. This might be it for me and the PS3. I have been a loyal Sony fan since PSone and have spent thousands of dollars in my life on their gaming products, and they want to stiff me after they can't even fix my PS3 right? F— that
(Sorry as you can tell I'm a little upset)

I feel your pain man. The YLOD is a complete balls. And what Sony never seem to tell anyone is that it can't be completely fixed. It can be repaired and it'll work for a while but I've yet to hear of a fixed YLOD that lasted any decent length of time after it came back.
My advice to anyone with a YLOD is get it fixed, back up your data, and trade it in for a new console.
It's harsh having to lose the B/C and two extra USB ports but they're a necessary sacrifice.

Well, just to let you hear it now…My PS3 got the YOLD about a year and a half ago…I got if fixed and its works parfectly. I believe the majority of the reason they go bad again depends on the user and not the PS3. Depending on how much work the PS3 is doing at a time, dictates whether or not the PS3 would have the YLOD again. Of course, from getting the YLOD the first time, I've learned my lesson and now back up my data almost every month.

Fortunatly, I had backed up everything 2 days before (learned that lesson the hard way the first time). The thing that kills me is I take great care of it. Keep it well ventilated, don't move it around a lot, never leave it on for nothing. I play a lot of games but that's about it. I think I'll just get rid of the old school model and upgrade for the slim.. Need a warranty with whatever I do.
Sorry bout that post, I was obviously pissed off lol

You've every right to be pissed off. Getting stonewalled by a company you support is enough to boil anyone's blood. And I think the new slim is a wise choice. The warranty gives you peace of mind even though the slim (to my knowledge) is a much more reliable version.
Actually, on that point, (and I know I'm seriously off-topic) has anyone here had a slim YLOD on them?

the same thing happened to me zanatos! but lucky enough the 2nd time (even tho the 1 month warranty ended) they fixed it again for free! still i was pee'd off to the max that it mustnt have been fixed properly the first time! slim is a very wise choice, never even heard of one break!
anyways, i would like Chris Hughton for xmas now.. yeh, i want him back as Newcastle United manager and i want that fat cockeney b*stard out!!!
