i feel your pain man my ps3 got it last month but i bought insurance with mine but then three days after getting it back it happened again i was then told they couldnt fix it. i would give sony a call see if they can do anything.

There are reliable tutorials online that show you how to fix it. This is handy if you're out of warranty. Plus, if you give it to Sony, they send out a replacement and you'll lose your game saves.

I glad this has never ever happened to me. I have the original 60GB PS3. The only issues I have is the some of my friends don’t show up or don’t show there last sign-in. This hashappened to me since last weekend.

My original 20GB PS3, the one that everyone said was crap, has had 0 hardware issues.. take that!!
man.. i can see Sony charging a lot for this, but like PS3 Freak said, SOny will trade it for a refurbished for free.. so thats probably your best bet.

Omg i know right ? I Have the original 60GB too and my only problems are random freezing and when i go to the bottom of my list some peoples last sign in is blank . I swear , if it fries ill be pissed .

well cheers for the support, but i left it off all night in a cool place and still wont work.. i have no idea what to do… my ps3 is the original 60GB, outside of warranty  is contacting sony my best bet??? if i do get a refurbished ps3, will i need to create a new account?? what exactly will i lose?? just my saves? trophies? account? please help lol

just called sony, they said i can contact them again with a reference number, to get someone to collect my ps3 for free, and then i will recive a brand new ps3 of the same model for a price of £128, clearly cheaper than buying a new one soo i might just try it out… still cant believe this lol

Im sure your account wont be lost . I mean im pretty sure its saved on Psn itself , since ive signed into my account off other Ps3s . Not to mention after deleting my first account a year ago i still have it as a friend on my PSN list haha .

I've got an original 60GB PS3 other than the occasional freezes it's been fine. Haven't had any of these problems with not showing friends last sign-in. I really hope I don't get that yellow light of death though!
