OK i have completed infamous being a hero and before i move on to be a evil guy i wanted to collect all collectables so i got all terrortories, dead drops & i have 347 shards out 350…
but while i have been collecting shards i have noticed something…
That sometimes i get two shards from the exact same location…
So my theory is that the shards are not pre-set into the locations, this would also explain why after you get the last battery core about 290 shards, your shard count only goes up if you actuly find shards and not receiving them from missions…

I think you're on the right track with that. My evidence is just that I started a new game and when you look around, you can't find any shards until after the mission where you meet Moya, and you find you're first one under the bridge. After that mission, I immediately went south to start systematically finding them, and went to the back of a building where I found one before, but nothing was there… leading me to believe they are randomly placed. However, once I've cleared an area, I've never seen any return there, so I think they are randomly placed after the aforementioned mission…

OMFG NOOOOOOOO… it just froze and when i came back on it i think i just lost the past 3hrs of me looking for shards!!!

I guess you learned the lesson that many gamers learned….You need to save often. You should learn to be OCD about that. It sucks that it happened to you, but I hope you learned from that….

Imagine if you had a power cut whilst playing this game – that would be pretty ironic lol. Anyway im about to do a shard search before attempting evil Cole, guess il be saving frequently! Does anybody know if hard mode is much harder?

i was once playing fallout 3 about to finish the stalite one fr three dog was on elevator halfway up their i had powercut i was well pissed off :@ lucky it has auto save but auto save can be annoying when you uck something up dont meant to but its saved it

Nath, na it isn’t that much harder, infact I think it is the same, but you earn less XP… Should really be called, earn less XP mode… Anyhow you can start a new game and keep your good cole too.

ah ok cool, so do your stats stay for the second playthrough? i.e do you have the powers unlocked etc or do you start from scratch?

@ Nath, this isn’t much more fun than running down the street, seeing an injurerd person on the floor and then kicking them… It doesn’t get more fun than that 
@ Mr Freak, You will let us kknow when you find the last one wont you I only need 25 more to find and I am about to give up lol. I will start looking again over the weekend but I have work tomorrow and Saturday morning… as in 6 am, so tomorrow night will be an early one I think.
