The game was just as awesome as I imagined. It rekindled those feelings that were caused when I played Spider Man 2 on the PS2. The game is sooooooooooooooo awesome.
The artwork is reminiscent of Twisted Metal 2, if any of you can remember that. So, it just seems like a game that has it legs. It is just addictive to look for Dead Drops and Blast Shards. That has everything to do with the ability to use the radar to see them on the map.
In other games, it is so annoying to do these easter egg hunts. I couldn't do it in Assassin's Creed, I couldn't do it in Grand Theft Auto 4, and I wouldn't have been able to do it in this game, if it wasn't for the radar.
Anywho, this game is fantastic. I may buy Prototype, in the future, but I may pass up that game if it isn't as polished as this one.

I remember twisted metal 2, you mean the cutscenes look like it… indeed, the style of things is similar, I like it, although gameinformer and some others complained (it apparently removes you from the experience). I think its a cool idea to do the cutscenes with a unique art style when everyone else is just trying their damndest to make everything realistic to the extreme.
and I agree with the hunting thing. I kinda wish the map would mark the dead drops you already found, you apparently need to be near one for the radar technique to work. also, some of the shards are hard to get to, it kinda makes me realize where the flaws are in cole wanting to grapple things almost too easily… He would keep gripping the wrong wall or pole sometimes and it would be near impossible to get positioned correctly… maybe I just need to get used to it.
Did you pick a good or evil path? I chose good, which seems more difficult to me, but it seems like the story was set up much better for it, as you have the adversity of being the underdog and trying to restore your good name, and the adversity of the actual enemies. It also seems hard to raise my karma meter, cause I keep accidentally blowing people up. I'm gonna play thru evil on hard mode, when I can just blow everything up and not care.

Well, I tend to follow the good path (unless there is reason not to do it). When I play the game again, I will focus on the evil path. Right now, I’m being the good-guy and grabbing all of the dead drops, shards, and doing the good missions.
After I finished the first three missions, and more of mission options are provided to you, I quickly realize that the green and yellow side missions were good, and the red and yellow were evil. I was just looking at my map, and I was like “why are they different colors?” It just popped in my head when I saw some of the titles for those missions.
Anywho, the game is uber-fun. I really noticed some of those problems that you mention, but I’m very forgiving. Hell, Spider Man 2 had problems like that; so, it just matters if I am having fun or not. I’m not really anal about little problems here and there, ya know?

Big,
When I started the game, it forced me to play hard (I can change it if I want, but I just want to get that trophy). The game isn’t toooooooo hard. The game would more difficult if health packs only recovered you. The “whole recovery if you are not damaged for a couple moments” has become the basis for many current games. Hell, Spider Man 2 was more difficult than this game. However, I’m just having too much fun. I do not really care about the difficulty, ya know? If I want to play something difficult, I’ll just play Contra 4 on my DS. I’m still trying to beat that stupid game to unlock Contra and Super C. >__<

yeah I tend to be good first in most games, I guess I just like being a hero. I work in a hospital, and don't get that feeling,,, so at the end of the day its kinda nice. And yeah I'm forgiving about those problems too, since it doesn't effect me in the missions really, just when I'm going for those shards. I suppose it provides a unique, if unintended, challenge. I think one of my favorite things so far is getting good speed on the rails and shooting enemies, and then leaping off with the thunder drop into a crowd of people/enemies. its just sooooo badass!

Orestes – it forced you to play hard? i haven't even looked at the difficulty honestly, I assumed I was on normal. If thats the case, then yeah it doesn't seem to hard so far. I usually like it when its a challenge on normal because I'm learning the game, and then a challenge on hard because I'm perfecting my use of the game mechanics. the health regen is fine with me if its well balanced, its just when games like prince of persia take it to an extreme where you can't die that I get annoyed. too easy.
Domba – the trophies do look different so far, but I only had 5% as of finishing last night, so it doesn't mean that some of them aren't duplicate or similar. I can give you a better description tomorrow, as I'm sure I'll earn a few tonight.

ah, it appears they only differentiate between the bronze, silver, gold, plat. the bronze is some block with a lightning bolt thru it, the silvers are a blue circle with two lightning bolts… and so on.

OMG!!!! I love InFamous!!!! Its amazing, another must have PS3 exclusive.
The graphics are amazing, The comic-book-style cutscenes are incredible, the powers are insanely fun, and the missions so no sign of repetitiveness.
This has my vote for GotY so far….but Uncharted 2 will easily change that =)
so, anyone who doesnt have InFamous should definately get it.
If you are not getting this because of its trophies, then you should give away your PS3 right now.
i have been playing for 3 days, and i got 20% trophies, and 45% done the story (good side)

parnakas – how do you know % story done? I didn't notice any stats anywhere really… cause I got a little over 22% trophies,,, I didn't think I was that far in the story . And there are some slight repeats… but that mostly just applies to the side missions, such as when you have to escort captives, and when you have to get rid of surveillance equipment, I've done a couple of those and I kinda hate them, they're a royal pain in the arse. Everything else is great tho…

We you beat the intro/tutorial, it forces a difficulty on you. If you get the difficulty bumped up to hard, you will unlock the trophy when you beat the game.
This is for easy for everyone, because I've heard some people complain about the difficulty, but this game seems VERRRRRY easy to me. It doesn't seem like you lose anything if you do accidentally die. You are just sent back to your apartment/check point.
However, I still think this game is sexy as hell. I may buy Prototype in the future. I will wait until there is a general idea of the game's quality (gamerankings.com, this site, gamefaqs.com, etc).

Thus far, it is awesome! easily my faverioute game so far this year. I actaully went to work today and it was busy… Now normally when it is busy, the time goes quickly, but becasue I wanted to get back home to play it, it went slower than when the store isn’t busy…
p.s. I am playing it in Hero this time round, oh and I am 57% complete with 29% of trophies done. Not that I care for the trophies in this game really… Don’t get me wrong, I love trophies, but what I meant was if this game didn’t have trophies I would have still got it becasue it is amazing!

Well, I'm just taking my time. I can't really rush through it because I things more important in my life. I'll make some time when I get home Sunday morning. I'll play some when I get home from my appointments Monday, and I hope I take out a good chunk of the game.
