i just got this game…
what exactly is “boosting”?

Depends on what you mean, the assault class inthe game has a boost function which makes the character run faster for a while.
Or you mean boosting as in “cheating”, like boosting headshots or kills or whatever. Not recommended.

“Boosting” is a term used to define when a group of people play a custom game for the purpose of unlocking achievements/trophies. “Boosting” is looked down upon verily by many gamers and is likely to get your statistics reset if you are caught doing so.

Statistics reset, more likely they ban your i.p address from Killzone 2 servers is what i've heard…

i got so pissed of with that cuz i got to 2nd highest rank in a day then i logged on next afternoon and it said “grunt”.

i think that this method of reseting stats will help to prevent them from cheating. but banning them from the game entirly will work better.
