The beauty of LBP is similar to that of SPORE.
there's an incredible user interactivity and creativity side to it that not many can resist. there's so many ways you can play it, so you adapt to how you like to play. also, the customisation is immense.

I will definitely do that – I am struggling to come to terms with paying 40 quid for a game where I have to make my own game!!!

you dont have to make anything, theres a pile of levels in the story mode and even if you never made your own level theres still loads of people making them so that you can play a new level everytime you turn on the game.
i'm currently loving this game and havent even tried creating anything yet
