 Whats your favorite type of music? Mines is Rock. Also whats your favorite singers/bands. My favorite bands are Linkin Park, Nickelback, Skillet, Breaking Benjamin, and System of a Down.

Actually my favourite genre of music is Ambient.

I also like New Metal, alternative, Game and movie soundtracks as well.

I like absolutely everything lol, and ShadeBlack, I have been known to listen to a bit of ambient too lolz. Some of my favourite bands would be Paramore, Social Distortion, Van Halen and DragonForce, and also Peter Gabriel. I like everything, from metal to pop, rock to trance/dance, but no rap.

Music is like sweets, you have to remove the rappers to enjoy it.

my favourite genre is Rock, Led Zeppelin is the greatest band of all time, i also love Iron Maiden, The Doors, Black Sabbath, System Of A Down, The White Stripes, and more..… I dont like too much of that screaming stuff, but Lamb Of God is an exception (great guitar, crap singing)

oh and the best band is Peter's Denial..  lol

funny how just about all of the people on this site are into some form of rock. having said that , and if you read what i say above , 'hip hop' has turned to pop. so , in actual fact , hip hop is dead. lost its creativity somewhere around the mid 90s with overmediatisation. and , guys , look around you : iron maiden is as dead as eddie , musical creativity died when art turned to industry or , for just about any given artist , sometime after the record deal. 

also , define rock.  and consider it as a part of a chain that went from rythm'n'blues to soul and funk. it didnt just spawn from nowhere….

I'm an alternative fan kind of.  My favorite bands would have to be The Fray, Arctic Monkeys, The Fratellis, The White Stripes, Led Zeppelin, OneRepublic and Vampire Weekend.  I guess that's kind of a mix…

But yeah, I'm not a big fan of country or modern rap/hip hop.  lol.  I can tolerate it, but you won't find any of that music on my iPod!  Oh, and I agree with you kingawol about old school rap.

yup , hip hop's creativity died in the 90s . money , cars and disrespecting women is all they think of nowadays. shame really. it was like funky punk back in the days , if you get my meaning.. energy-wise and stuff..

i just saw them in concert and they are still the best heavy metal band ever. Their comeback album, Brave New World, is the best metal album of the new generation, and A Matter Of Life And Death from 2007, was amazing. Iron Maiden is the Farthest thing from dead.

I think we both agree that 90% of new music SUCKS..its all about getting money, not the music anymore.

well , yup , 90 if not 99 % of new music sux… sorry if i offended your love of iron maiden , what i meant is they were once (late 80s) over hyped in media (hell, def leppard were on tv then…) , and now have somewhat gone back to the confidentiality of ' connaisseurs ' of a genre. hence my cheap eddie image…lol
