Why does it take ages to find a match online on 'Uncharted 2' when it takes a few seconds for 'Modern Warfare 2', 'Uncharted 2' is clearly a better game!

Ok.. Yes, Uncharted 2 is a better game (that is easily debatable though), but I think that Modern Warfare 2 just has better servers, since the whole premise of the game is focused on online.

although at least one gets to play a whole undisturbed matches in U2 time after time, last time i played MW2 i believe i gave up after the 3rd failed host migration then went on BFBC2, even bothering to d/l the uber upate!
on topic, probably because their different servers/games/modes/graphics engine etc etc, and amount of people online, generally i think Uncharted 2 should have stayed offline, maybe add co-op, but everyone has their different tastes, plud by adding online the developers can start selling crap skins and the odd map or two at overpriced prices and earn quite a bit from it, what happened to the days of unreal tournament 3? they basically gave away new modes, maps, guns and trophies for free! even if i never played it that much….

cause noone plays U2 online, its online is shite compared to MW2's and thats exactly why more people play it.

And theres the exact response I expected from Knoxie.. 
Again, its just the servers.. MW2 is completely focused on the online component of the game, so the developers made sure the servers were awesome. Uncharted 2 is more focused on the fantastic single player, and the online is just extra, but the servers are quite good. It takes forever to find a match, but you wont be disturbed when you are in one.

This is such a fight thread waiting to happen.
It's not so much the servers themselves that are an issue, but rather the match-making process.
If the match-making criteria is quite strict then getting a room can take a while. I don't think either Uncharted or MW2 have dedicated servers which means they're both relying on peer-to-peer hosting.
There are far less people playing Uncharted so when you search for a game the odds of getting a good match quickly are low. MW2 has such a massive online community that finding a compatible connection happens a lot faster.

If I have learned anything from my time working in the service industry it’s that for quite a few people, the basic theories behind the use of a toilet are absolute mysteries…

you know i couldve quoted what you first said, but tbh i really cba with your patter. the guy was asking why it takes ages to find a match on U2 MP compared to MW2, yes he said U2 is the better game but i dont think he was asking everyone what they think is.
anyways i agree with I773D33MABL3, match making on U2 is a load of bollocks, even when it first came out i think it was me and nodanod who didnt get into a game for 5mins. not only that but MW2s online is better, more peoples friends play it so it gets them into it etc..

actually i didnt contradict myself at all.. i was gonna say this incase you said it but i didnt, well, i was talking about the MP of the game, if you look up you said U2 is a better GAME, whereas i said MW2 has better MP (which is an answer to question of the thread  ). i wouldnt even call this an argument but i think your wrong in saying ive contradicted myself when i said “i dont think he was asking what the better game is” because i didnt say which is the better game, i stayed on topic and said a reason why you can always can connect to a game on MW2 – coz it is better and therefore more people play it so they needed to make sure you could always connect.

the funny thing is it hardly ever disconnects you on 360, says it all really..
only ever been returned to the match screen a few times on ps3 though, but whenever it has its been more lately  it never used to.

I'm still surprised we still have these kind of debates.
Lets make it simple of on all of us. Knoxie likes MW2, Parnakas like Uncharted 2. Both stick by their entitled opinions. Therefore debating as to what game has better MP is completely pointless, we should have never even considered responding to this thread. We could have opened up one of many that so seem oh so familiar.

Strange thing is for me, I find games MUCH faster on Uncharted 2 than Mw2  . And I HATE the matchmaking in MW2. It constantly puts me into games that are already finished or almost finished. Plus, MW2 is so ***NO PROFANE LANGUAGE PLEASE*** up, that it jams up my ps3 after every online match.

While I wont say that U2 gives me a game quicker than MW2, I certaintly don't mind the wait that seems to have improved since the game first came out. I remember about 3 times ever in U2 that I got kicked for connection problems or whatever. When you get in a game in MW2 with a nice steady server and not too many commando sluts running around it can be a lot of fun, just too many 'if's for me. COD4 is still beast though.

and no, your DISC i fkd up, not the game. i usually get put into games that are just about to start or just started, and as weird as it is, i couldve said i had a problem with U2's cutscenes which always went soooo slow, i mean like something moved 1 tiny bit every 3 secs (im sure i told someone on here) but thats a problem with my disc (i think) NOT the game.
