It makes me chuckle everytime I see an SE. I really don't think I could afford to collect the vast amount that seem to be getting released these days. Just give me the game and I'm happy Laugh

I've had to pick and choose myself lately. Last year the amount released from September to November was just crazy. And when these kind of CEs started popping up first they were usually around the €70 mark, now they seem to be averaging over €100 a pop.

I suppose almost 2 hours extra gameplay is a bit of a bonus although I imagine that'll be available shortly after anyway.

Not sure what to make of the game itself. Didn't like the last one, but the trailer for this looks interesting.

It's okay, I hate Street Fighter games so that's one edition that can pass me by.

I liked FC2. It wasn't perfect and the online was such a long slog, it was barely worth starting.

So this is the best ***NO PROFANE LANGUAGE PLEASE*** game I've played all year. I have no idea why nobody else is playing it. Good graphics/animations, good characters, good story, gameplay that you actually get to play instead of doing QTEs, lots of hours of gameplay, hunting that actually makes the animals somewhat of a threat (unlike AC3), RPG elements with really good gunplay elements as well, decent stealth, you get a ***NO PROFANE LANGUAGE PLEASE*** wingsuit on the second island and can fly whenever you want, and there's dozens of other things that make this game the best thing ever.

The story has a grip on me and I'm really interested in this title. Will pick this up while I wait for Infinite Smile

Currently have this game residing in a small backlog. Have only redeemed the online pass but haven't actually popped it in yet. Going to immediately do co-op first so I can enjoy the single player. Hopefully I don't get bored quickly Embarassed

It's a pretty sweet game. Miles better than the last one. I just have that shitty poker trophy and the co-op to get the plat. I suck at poker!

If you've not already gotten the poker trophy I found the best way was to just go all in on your first go regardless… Don't even look at your hand, just go all in and hammer the 'skip boring ass animation' button… I hate poker based sh!t in games!! (Red DeadAngry)

After pissing about for 20-30min trying to properly play a game i have no idea about and losing, I found that a good few times it would win and bust 1-2 of the other players, meaning you only have to beat 1-2 with decent funds… And if you lose it only takes like 10sec instead of 10-15min, getting the $1500 playing the $300 matches didn't take too long at all…

The online co-op I though was a pretty standard affair, although the Weegie char. was class Laugh Pretty spot on Wink Getting into the level you need can be a pain if you're not hosting but the fact that you can do it offline is surprising in the wake of the 'online pass'…

So I got the Plat. on the 1st Carefree, and 100% on the 2nd… I can say I really enjoyed it and for the first time in a while I'm glad I got all the DLC (Insane Ed.) It wasn't perfect, a 'holster weapon' option would have been nice… And it is by no means 'Skyrim with guns', wtf Confused

It took me just under 40hours to 100% everything inc. the DLC compared to my 180hours+ I spent with, the pretty broken but awesome as fook, Skyrim… Think someone got a little to excited when they wrote that… I could go on at length about the difference!! Epic compared to Far Cry 2 but it's really got me thinking about Just Cause 3 more than anything, I would still play JC2 over FC3… And even JC2 wasn't perfect, the trophies were a GRIND Laugh and the whole 'Plat. breaking' 'Bus/limo' glitch that, praise Allah, got patched…

I've read people moaning about all the side quests and it seems dumb as sh!t they would complain at in game content Teasing Hunting to gain better holsters seemed pretty real (as it can get in a game where over the course of half an hour you turn from a scared tourist into a killing machine), the medi quests were a good laugh at times but never actually hard and the kill quests were pretty cool armed with a sniper and upgraded take-downs… The story was a bit iffy perhaps, but not terrible and there were some really nice story segments/effects and the graphics I though were really nice, guns look good!!

Even getting the relics was relatively fun? Or perhaps I just like collecting sh!t Teasing There was even a 'Assassins Creed easter egg DLC mission' if that's what you might call it!? I'm also glad about the ending I chose, because from watching the other on Youtube it seems like I made the right choice Wink

Doing the final Hurk DLC mission after finishing the main quest with the little speech he gives at the end really felt like it wrapped the whole game up nicely for me… Well worth the money IMO…

Yeah, I kinda noticed that when I was playing poker. If you go all in, you'll always have a good chance of winning easily. Also, how can you say you'd want to play Just Cause 2 over Far Cry 3? Confused Doc, you cray-cray Carefree

Anyways, this game is fcuking phenomenal. I haven't had a FPS or an open world game motivating me to do 100% of everything or caring about characters as much as this game. I still haven't finished the game yet, but goddamn. This game has it's shit checked and should be an example of how open world games should be. The sound track is just astonishing and fits the game so well, even making some of the set pieces and plot points more memorable and heart-pounding. The characters are the best I've seen in gaming and have actual emotion with realistic feelings. These aren't paper thin characters with no development at all. You will care for who lives and dies whether or not they're a villian or not. Speaking of development, the character development in this game is breath taking and should be an example of how to take on a story like this. Oh, and the dialogue… Just expertly written and some of the best I've heard!

Take me into your heart. Accept me as your saviour. Nail me to the ***NO PROFANE LANGUAGE PLEASE*** cross and let me be REBORN! – Vaas

This is definitely a game for the books and a pleasant surprise from a year of shit and disappointments left and right. I'm keeping this game for sure and will fit perfectly next to the Uncharted games as something I hold dear. Going to 100% the main game as well as trophies. Hopefully we could see some single player DLC in the future? I'd be more than happy coughing up $15 just to have some more shit to do on top of the incredible, perfectly & expertly written single player campaign. Please Ubi, do some justice here and support this game!!! This has to be the best FPS along with open world game I've played.

Thanks for the tip Doc, I actually got the trophy doing pretty much just that. Only two co-op levels left for the plat. I'm doing them with my brother so we're both getting exactly the level we need with no re-runs. It's a fairly well developed co-op but I'm finding it the buggiest part of the game. Nothing game-breaking but causing a few irritating restarts.

I think you've been smoking the same stuff as those people who say it's 'Skyrim with guns', eh…

You have played Just Cause 2, right!?

Wink

It's more fun, the map was larger and taller , I think it was longer story with more side activities and hours more exploration, finding the quality little 'Easter eggs' type things… The 'shark-fin motor', hot air balloon and exploding whale being just a few I remember off-hand… More weapons and vehicles… The mix of urban and jungle landscape; Snow and desert areas…

The final mission was a ton of fun… The 'Electro club' on the air-ship was pretty cool… Flying around the island in that little agency plane when it was maxed was sweet… Base jumping… Riding on the outside of flying planes!! Etc.

The value for money was definitely there… Almost twice the content!? 100% JC2 was not for the weak of heart, not the trophies just the overall game…

The grappling hook and parachute mechanic is amazing when you get the hang off it and you could lose hours just messing about not actually doing anything really at all… Trophies were realistic to the scope of the game… I'll always remember it more than FC3…

Only my opinion of course, and only cause you asked Geek

Just Cause 3 is all but confirmed for Ps4… Nice!!

I've played Just Cause 2. I don't remember my overall game completion percentage, but it's in the high 90's, because 100% is basically impossible. The point is, I've played it. It's still one of my favorite games, which is why I've still got it kicking around. I couldn't possibly make the argument that it's objectively better than Far Cry 3, and I don't think it is. I would say the music, sound effects, gun feel, gun selection, gun customization, graphics, story, voice acting, graphics, and animations are all objectively better in Far Cry 3 than in Just Cause 2. Speaking of weapons, did you just say Just Cause 2 has a better weapon selection? Far Cry 3 has every weapon Just Cause 2 has and more. Then you can customize each weapon. Just Cause 2 has the vehicle selection though. Although 95% of the vehicles in Just Cause 2 control like shit. I think the Cougar and the sports car thing were the only land vehicles that I could stand to drive. It did have jets though, which was awesome. The boats worked fine, too.

About the size of the map in Just Cause 2, it's big, but so what? 7 main missions and 49 faction missions in JC2. 34 main missions and 12 side missions in FC3. Just Cause 2 takes a long time to finish because it has a small number of things to do, then lets you do that same thing dozens or hundreds of times. Most (not all) of the collectibles are just a matter of going over and getting them because they're out in the open. That's what they have to do because there's just so many of them. It's takes a long time to get them, but the process of obtaining them is not exactly interesting. Far Cry 3 has a lot of hidden collectibles, mostly relics, that can actually take some thought to figure out how to get to them. And a lot of the times the process of getting them is actually interesting and different.

JC2 has a lot of racing missions, but since the driving is garbage, I wouldn't call it a good thing. Whenever I saw that I had new racing missions to do, I'd always groan because they sucked. I remember one race that has you going around the entire big island, and it was so long and boring and uneventful. The game had a lot of those faction missions, but they got repetitive after a while, too. The shooting in that game is not too varied or difficult or anything. It's like GTAIV where you're really only shooting guys because there's guys that need killing and guns will do it. The fun doesn't come from the shooting directly. You occasionally have fun moments happen that are indirectly caused by your killing of the enemies. Ragdoll physics and such. You can't really put much strategy into your assaults on bases since there's not a lot of variety in the ways you can kill people. I mean, there's lots of ways to kill in that game, but not effectively. I think later on in the game, it was just a matter of getting a helicopter with guns and mowing down the outposts.

So Just Cause 2 has a big world with lots of filler and simplicity strewn about it. You have to make your own fun, which I did gladly. I can see how someone can make enough of their own fun to like Just Cause 2 more. Like if they literally did not care about gameplay mechanics or story or characters or anything. I have the ability to do that sometimes. That's why I was able to enjoy Dead Island while so many others rightfully did not. I just don't agree with the sentiment that spending a lot of time in a game makes it better. I've spent way more time in much worse games than Far Cry 3. Dead Island, for example.

Anyway, I'm not trying to convince you that Far Cry 3 is the better game. I just don't agree with your reasons for JC2 being the better game. If you had just said you had more fun in Just Cause 2 or you prefer games with more game time, then I wouldn't have a problem. You make it sound like Just Cause 2 is obviously superior by a large margin. I think the length of Just Cause 2 makes up for its various gameplay shortcomings and Far Cry 3's gameplay makes up for its length. And if Far Cry 3's length is its biggest glaring problem, then that's not really that bad. It could've had a lot more problems like Skyrim.

In regards to the “Skyrim with guns” thing, I hate that comparison. Many of the things I've said about Just Cause 2 can be applied to Skyrim, with many more things left unsaid.

Nah, I'm smokin' up whatever Dr. Earnhardt has Wink

Seriously though, I found Skyrim to be dull in every sense of the word Surprised The game is horrendous to the eyes, the story is uninspired and uninteresting, and side quests are essentially the same thing repeatedly. I actually think Skyrim is Far Cry 3 with swords and glitches. Not trying to “monkey see, monkey do” with Seibei, but he does have a valid point as well with Just Cause 2. I loaded it up and played 10 hours or so and within those 10 hours, I was bored as sh!t. The game just rehashes the same material again and again – Blow this sh!t up, blow that sh!t up, with nothing else to do. The story isn't engaging whatsoever as well as uninteresting. Yeah it's fun, cliche, etc. but it's just boring to me.

Say whatever you will about how Far Cry 3 doesn't have enough gameplay hours or so, but you can't deny how gorgeous the graphics are, the smoothness of the gameplay, and the heart-felt as well as intense story with interesting characters are. Far Cry 3 has dominated the FPS genre with it's rich story telling, eye engrossing graphics, and smooth as silk gameplay Cool

I was trying to catch up before the return to MP3, man! Now this game'll be completely overhyped by the time I get to itSick Just Cause 2 is awesome and I was actually hoping for essentially a First Person, smaller but smoother version of it with a tense masterpiece of a story. There'd be no huge explosions or crazy scope but that's all I want from it. So is it basically that, Doc?

405 scares me. I left my ducky in there.
