Borderlands Trophy Guide by KoG73

Amount of trophies: A lot
Difficult: No (even I managed to get a platinum in 10 days) just time consuming, similar to fallout 3
Sexy women: Depends if you like gingers
ETA of obtaining all trophies:25-40 hours (at a guess)
What is needed: working ps3, game, spare time, a mate/American/mother-in-law, internet connection for certain trophies
Certain issues: Some trophies are known to not unlock for certain reasons, if this happens you’ll have to start another character and start again, known trophies to get `glitched` kill certain bosses, get a certain amount of kills with certain weapons and the 12 days of Pandora.
Which character should I choose if I'm new to the game?-soldier, you’ll find yourelf always using assault rifles and shotguns at the start of the game anyway…

Quick intro to the game,

Borderlands is a great game, it’s basically Fallout 3 with 4 player co-op, vehicles, a great sense of humour, no glitching (other than the trophy glitching, and mics occasionally not working), and refreshing graphics-cel-shaded. A lot of people say they didn’t buy the game due to being put off by the graphics, don’t be! The graphics are perfect, and are a lot more colourful than normal games. The game is an FPS meet RPG like fallout 3 (as you’ve probably guessed I like these types of games, 3 trophy guides 2 of which are based on FPRPG, or whatever you call em), the game, on last count, according to Borderlands wiki has 17.5 million different guns haven’t checked in ages so it has probably increased! Overall great game recommend you get it (especially if you liked fallout 3), my fave offline game and co-op game of the year easily (MW2 wins online for me),

Ok an easy set of trophies, just play all the levels as you unlock them, I recommend that you do all possible missions before moving on to the next area, this will make levelling up a lot easier and I really enjoy some of those missions, such as killing skag zilla, king pee wee etc.

It’s a me Mario!, quite an easy trophy if you know what your doing! Simply get a low level skag (like the ones outside Fyrestone) on  your first playthrough, if you’re a high level jump on top of him until he dies, if your quite low, shoot him with a pistol to weaken him then jump on him, do this whilst saying a cheesy one liner in a Italian accent and your well on your way to becoming insane.

Speedy McSpeederton
Race around the Ludicrous Speedway in record time

In the desert region (haven’t played the game for a long time, so cant remember names) in the top left is a race track, clear the area of those creatures doing  a side-mission, then go there again in a car, race around, when you enter the cave take the short-cut on the left then do the jump, after a few tries you’ll get this trophy.

Applied an elemental artefact

You’ll find one lying around after a couple of hours playing, just equip it and ding!

Time consuming, but do-able, I recommend doing the main levels on the 2nd playthrough and any side missions that gets you a load of xp, if your still stuck for xp and you haven’t completed the 2nd playthorugh, get a mate who has and get him to take you to the place with all those *SPOILER START* flying alien/guardian things *SPOILER ENDING* to get loads of xp

You’ll get these trophies simply by playing the game, not too hard then, unless your blind or something but still would a blind man be reading this? Better not get distracted…next trophy

Get A Little Blood on the Tires
Killed 25 enemies by ramming them with any vehicle

This is similar to how they get meat for my school canteen (but i reckon a Skag would taste better than the crap they serve), get a car go to fyrestone, and keep driving other the skags that are just outside there, also the raider (are they called raiders, I thought that was fallout 3!) camp has spawning enemies

Rootinest, Tootinest, Shootinest
Killed 5 Rakk in under 10 seconds

Get a big bad ass machine gun or turret gun on the cars, find a place with loads of rack, and fire away, not too hard, you can also use a shotgun and let em get close before taking them all out in 2-3 hits.

Fence
Sold 50 guns to a shop

When you first start the game, all you’ll be doing really is finding guns and selling them to get some money, so you should get this easily

Emerged victorious from an arena match

Arena matches, are co-op only matches found in little buildings with the big flashing sign ARENA on top of it (bit of a give away), just get in a match and win, if the guy your playing Is too high a level and its taking forever to kill him, just get him to blow himself up with an rpg repeatedly

Duel-icious
Won a duel against another player

To start a duel knife someone in co-op, then they knife you back, don’t do a duel with someone with too high as level otherwise you’ll be there for hours shooting and wasting ammo.

Group LF Healer
 Rescued a groupmate from death in a co-op game

Once a guy go’s down in co-op go up to him t-bag (recommended but not needed) then revive him, nothing hard here then

There’s No “I” In “Team”
Completed 15 missions in co-op

Co-op’s so great in this game! Just keep playing away with your friends/American/mother-in-law and get that trophy!

Weapon Aficionado
Reached proficiency level 10 with any weapon type

I recommend that you use the assault rifles at the start of the game, especially when you get a 3 round burst combat rifle, these guns are hell accurate and deal serious damage unlike a drunk Pikachu

Facemelter
Killed 25 enemies with corrosive weapons

Master Exploder 
Killed 25 enemies with explosive weapons

These trophies have been known to glitch and not get unlocked, if this happens you will have to do them again on another save file! Not sure if they’ve patched it yet though….

Equipped a class mod for your character

You’ll unlock a mod sooner or later in the game just equip and……..trophy unlock! Yay now onto the next

 Killed an enemy with the Siren’s action skill

These trophies are boring but pretty easy, just create new saves (you can have more than one without deleting the old)  then get to level 5, and start killing away you savage b*****d

12 Days of Pandora (hidden)
Mastered the technology of Pandora

Cant remember the complete list of stuff you have to do, but if you press select and get your pip boy, sorry I mean inventory out go to quests/missions press triangle (I think) you’ll see a list of challenges look out for the one called `12 days of Pandora` near the top, and do what it says, simples

You're on a boat! (hidden)
I bet you never thought you'd be here

There's a small boat in treachers landing with lights and flags on it, open up the map look at the bottom right, you should see a small dock, go there and the boats there. Go on it wait for it, wait for it……..i said wait for it, and ding another trophy down. For those whom have difficulties finding the boat

Won a duel without taking damage

Just get your mate/American/mother-in-law to let you kill them, and an easy trophy awaits

And They’ll Tell Two Friends
Played in a co-op game with either an employee of Gearbox or someone who had this trophy

Not too hard now this game has been out for awhile, you’ll probably get it straight away from joining a random co-op lobby

Pandora-dog Millionaire
Earned $1,000,000

Not too hard again, due to the fact that you’ll constantly be selling guns for money, also please note you don’t need $1,000,000 in one hit its a cumulative score.

Wanted: Sledge (hidden)
Killed Sledge

Destroyed the Hive (and this one is hidden as well!)
Killed the Rakk Hive

Line em up and shoot em down, not too hard, the co-op really comes to life when taking out these bosses with your mate/American/mother-in-law especially the Rakk Hive where the classic line `is that his head or anus` never gets boring/old!

Gold

United We Stand (hidden)
Defeated the Rakk Hive, the Vault Boss, Sledge, Krom, or Flynt in a co-op game

This trophy is seriously easy to get, but you’ll do it again and again because co-op is so friggin awesome! If you are having difficulties and want this trophy early on, get a high level mate/American/mother-in-law to join you and let him do all the work, you still get all the xp and end of level rewards

Destroyed The Destroyer (another bloody hidden one!)
Killed the Vault Boss

 “POSSIBLE SPOILER START” Not hard, recommend using the eridian weapon that fires massive blobs of stuff on him when his mouth is open and a strong combat rifle on his tentacles, this is the only thing that is bad about the game….the sudden ending…“POSSIBLE SPOILER END”

This game looks good but I don't know if I am going to be able to fit it in now between all these other great games coming out.

Yeah, it's just my PSN is limited so I wanted to know if I would just have a chance of earning platinum.

This game has apparently been patched to fix the trophy issues.

“You Call this Archaeology?” trophy is easiest earned by doing the Crystal Cavern quest – you should be about level 15 for this.

For the arena match trophies – the first arena is in the Arid Badlands just north of Fyrestone.  You go there to kill off 8 bandits for an early quest, and there is a hidden journal right next to it.

@knightmare – online trophies can be done in under an hour easy.  Play up until you get to sledge, then switch to a public game.  Kill Sledge.  Duel someone and win without taking a hit.  Go to the Arid Badlands arena and win.  Done.  The only one you can't get on split screen is “and they'll tell two friends” – and you can't get online while in splitscreen mode.

I'd say pretty much… I have it if you need, but if you don't get it straight away when you try MP just exit and try another game until you do…

So to get the plat on this game I need to go online? How many trophies need online?
