God Of War Trophy Guide

Congratulations for playing the best game to date. Now if you are new to this game and did not play it when it was on the old console then this will take 2 playthroughs to get everything done. So I suggest for newcomers on the first playthrough just work on learning the game and collecting everything so on the next playthrough all you will have to do is rush through the game to beat it in 5 hours. If you are not new to the game and are going to try to tackle every trophy in one playthrough then good luck. Make sure to keep up with the elapsed time and save often to do so. If you get to hades and you have 4:30 already passed then don't open any other chests or you will not make it in 5 hours. I made it with only 2 minutes to spare and collected everything although I did get lost a few times during the course of the game. So you may be able to do it with enough time to open all the chests unlike me but if you don't get to open all the chests due to time restrictions, to upgrade all weapons you'll have to play the first level on a 2nd playthrough to finish upgrading. If you collect every chest until hades it won't take much to upgrade everything else so it shouldn't even take playing the whole level. For any questions you can leave a post here or send me a message on the PS3. Please no friend requests. My PSN ID is CoryAllen. Enjoy the guide!

Prepare to be a God (Gold)

Beat the Game on any Difficulty

The game is pretty easy and straight forward but if you get stuck on any of the puzzles or something, here is a link to a walkthrough:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/consol…..9864/36077

This one helped me tremendously when I first got god of war and played on god mode.

Other Trophies:

Rockin' the Boat (Bronze)

Complete the Sex Mini-Game

Ah the infamous sex mini game. After defeating the hydra and opening up the door with the captains key there will be a cutscene and you will then be on a boat with some naked chicks on the bed behind you. Hop on the bed and hit circle to begin doing the deed. It will always yield orbs by doing this although it would take doing the sex sequence numerous upon numerous times to even help towards upgrading anything.

Don't Leave Her Hanging (Bronze)

Rescue the Oracle with 10 seconds to spare

This is actually very easy to do. The trophy should be 20 seconds to make it a bit more difficult. All you have to do is jump as quick as possible with everything. Jump as soon as you get to the waterwheels and usually you won't get knocked off. Just rush right through it.

Splash (Bronze)

Kiss the Nyad

Nyads are those ghost-like women floating in the water during the challenge of Poseidon for anyone that didn't know. Hit O when you are next to one to kiss it and it will reward you with various things such as phoenix feathers. You will cross a nyad on the way to beating the game so don't worry about trying to look for one. If you need better help to know what nyads are here is a video of one:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..vtfA4heJ9Q

Zero Health (Bronze)

Open a Health Chest when your health meter is already full

Just waste a health chest. How cruel of Sony to make us waste a perfectly good chest.

Hitman (Bronze)

Get a 100 Hits Combo

Refer to Hitman 2.

Getting My Ass Kicked (Bronze)

Die enough times to get offered Easy Mode

Play the game on hard and take the liberty of hopping of a cliff a few times. You can't get this trophy on any of the 1st level as far as I can tell. So try this after beating the hydra. I jumped off a cliff and died 100 times in a row and it still didn't offer it to me I guess just because I was on the 1st level so beat the hydra then try it.

Kratos' Marble Collection (Silver)

Collect all the Gorgon Eyes

This is imo the best guide I have ever seen/used:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/consol…..9864/37194

I used this guide when I had the PS2 version and it was an incredible help. This guide has locations for everything including all the chests, gorgon eyes, phoenix feathers, nyads, muse keys, and pretty much any other thing that can be collected on this game. I highly suggest using this guide.

Stick it in Your Cap! (Silver)

Collect all the Phoenix Feathers

Refer to Kratos' Marble Collection.

Hitman 2 (Silver)

Get a 200 Hits Combo

This can be done in so many different places! The place I found best was during the final battle with Ares so that all of your magic and weapons will be upgraded. When he sucks you into the void and you have to protect Kratos's family just use Poseidon's rage repeatedly on the many Kratos copies until your magic meter is depleted and you should have way more than 200 hits.

Legend of the Twins (Silver)

Watch the ‘Birth of the Beast' Treasure

To unlock this video beat the game on any difficulty. Then go watch the video and watch the trophy pop up. Is it just me or do the trophies on the god of war collection not ping? Might a trophy to make us watch this video mean the developers intend to use this little side story in god of war 3?

Seeing Red (Silver)

Max out all Weapons and Magic

You have to max everything out in 1 go so Refer to Kratos' Marble Collection if you would like to do so without glitching. To get more orbs also make sure to try to get big combos. Another way to get all the orbs in one go would be to do this infinite orb glitch:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..lL9SLBzR60

I think that way sucks though. It's time consuming and very difficult to pull off. Personally I would try this way because you can just load up your game save from right before you fought Ares after you go ahead and get the beat the game in 5 hours trophy first:

While fighting Ares (The session before he sucks you into the void) you will have to hit circle and begin the button sequence, you will at some point hit circle. It will be like the second button pressed I think, when you hit it then keep mashing circle until you mess up the sequence. It should cause Ares to yield orbs for stabbing him but he will harmlessly throw you off. Do this as much as you desire. Please make an extra game save before the final battle just in case you accidentally save over the original one after the battle. If you're wanting to get all the trophies in one run then you basically have to do this glitch instead of the other.

You Got the Touch! (Gold)

Climb the Spiked Column in Hades without taking damage

This trophy is just too easy. There are actually 2 columns but I think this has to be done on the first. Just learn which spikes are where and work on your timing. This should take no more than 2 or 3 attempts.

I'll Take the Physical Challenge (Gold)

Complete the Challenge of the Gods

Here are some videos on how to complete these challenges. These are the best strategies to completing each one.

Challenges 1-7: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..7UkXF7uW5M

Challenge 8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..re=related

Challenges 9-10: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..re=related

Speed of Jason McDonald (Gold)

Beat the game in under 5 hours on any Difficulty

Just rush through the game. Kill the enemies quick and make sure not to get lost or stuck on any puzzles. You should have time to collect all the muse keys, gorgon eyes, and phoenix feathers during a 5 hour run. It helps if you upgrade your blades of chaos to level 5 before upgrading anything else that way you can just rush right through all the enemies.

Key to Success (Gold)

Collect all of the Muse Keys

Refer to Kratos' Marble Collection.

Trophy of Zeus (Platinum)

Unlock all God of War Trophies

Congratulations on your new platinum!

Hope this helped! If you have any questions just message me. Have a good one!

Damn, wish I had this game. If I don't get the collection it might put me off getting God of War III because I've never played the 1st two games. Sad

thanks guys. message me if yall need any help. i know w4r sure did on this lol.

btw knightmare.. yeah about 2 hours. about 1&1/2 for gow2 but it's a lot easier really lol

Also very important!!

i messed up on the guide. you have to get all the orbs in 1 run through. there is no bonus play on gow1. so save b4 the final battle with ares in a new save slot so you have 2 copies of the same save. after you beat the game load up the 2nd save so that you're back at the final battle with ares and do the ares glitch mentioned in the guide. thanks w4r for finding this error for me

also admin i would like to replace this guide if your available to switch them anytime

For any of you guys hesitating about this ” Speed of Jason McDonald ” Trophy , dont . You may think its a joke , but its more of a joke on your end once you beat it . I never played the God of Wars before and with a little help with Cory and Gr8jfan i was able to finish the game with a total of 2 hours and 45 min . I would say the best thing to do would be to tackle the Challenge of the Gods first ( You have to do it either way ) and then unlock your Dairy Bastard costume , which enables infinite magic . Fully upgrade your Poseidons rage and your pretty much set , spam the rage when needed to get pass locked areas, and ditch the enemies when a battle isnt necessary. Note that reload checkpoint helps ALOT , so when having trouble on the spiked columns or you get lost , just reload checkpoint and take your time finding the exit , reloading checkpoint will take you back to the original time from the previous checkpoint . Hope this helps .

Hey, Cory.

I tried to do what you say here, but it won't work for me. I made an extra save before the Ares fight, but when I go back to that save after completing the game, I have the same amount of orbs that I had before as well as the same upgrades. Any suggestions?

I finaly got my plat! My first plat, it took me 1 year and 6 days to get a platFools. My last trophy was Speed of Jason McDonald, I did it in about 4 hours but I had to do Seeing Red too.

@Tridon

You have to fight Ares untill his life bar is almost gone, then a O will appear over him, you have to press O and keep pressing O and then the next button (triangle I think) then you will climb on him and another button will apper, You DON'T press it. He will throw you away and you will get some Red Orbs, then hit him again and O will appear again, press it and the next button,…

Hope I helped Tridon.
