Introduction

The Ninja Gaiden series is notoriously difficult and Sigma 2 is no exception if your looking for an easy platinum then you've come to the wrong place. You play as the dragon ninja Ryu Hayabusa your goal is to defeat the archfiend and cleanse the land. The single player campaign consists of 17 chapters and a ton of difficult yet rewarding boss battles.

For this trophy to unlock you will need to have beaten the game to unlock Chapter Challenge mode. You will need to beat all 17 chapters with a Master Ninja rating an easy way to build up karma is to perform Obliteration and Ultimate techniques.

Complete all 17 Chapters on Chapter Challenge mode on Warrior difficulty with a Master Ninja rating.

Mastered the Path of the Mentor (Silver)

Complete all 17 Chapters on Chapter Challenge mode on Mentor difficulty with a Master Ninja rating.

Mastered the Path of the Master Ninja (Gold)

Complete all 17 Chapters on Chapter Challenge mode on Master Ninja difficulty with a Master Ninja rating.

Feat of a Hundred Slashes (Bronze)

Tonfa Master (Bronze)

Kill 1000 enemies with the Tonfa. Kills from any game mode count towards this trophy.

Vigoorian Flail Master (Bronze)

Kill 1000 enemies with the Vigoorian Flail. Kills from any game mode count towards this trophy.

Enma's Fang Master (Bronze)

Kill 1000 enemies with Emna's Fang. Kills from any game mode count towards this trophy.

Ultimate Nimpo Master (Bronze)

This can only be done in Team Missions which is unlocked after you beat Chapter 1. To perform an Ultimate Nimpo press Triangle and Circle together if your partner or AI partner uses their Nimpo at the same time you will perform an Ultimate Nimpo.

Rescued 100 Ninja's (Bronze)

This trophy can only be earned in Team missions simply revive your partner with Circle. Perform 100 revives to unlock the trophy.

Ayane Mastered (Silver)

Kill 1000 enemies with Ayane. Ayane is a playable character in Chapter 11 but you unlock her in Team Missions mode once you beat Chapter 11.

Momiji Mastered (Silver)

Kill 1000 enemies with Momiji. Momiji is a playable character in Chapter 5. She is unlocked in Team Missions once you beat Chapter 5.

Rachel Mastered (Silver)

Kill 1000 enemies with Rachel. Rachel is a playable character in Chapter 8. She is unlocked in Team Missions mode once you beat Chapter 8.

All missions successfully completed (Gold)

To unlock this trophy you need to successfully complete all 35 Team Missions

Master Ninja 04

This mission can be done using 2 Rachel's the idea is to stay at the start of the map and shoot anything that moves. There are 7 waves of enemies in total once you defeat all 7 the mission is over. On wave 6 you will need to kill a lot of dogs therefore i would highly suggest using an Ultimate nimpo to wipe them out.

Master Ninja 05

In Master Ninja 05 you will have to beat both Genshin and Elizabet but the bad thing is as soon as the mission starts they are both waiting for you. The easiest way to beat this mission is with Ryu using the Lunar Staff and Rachel. If you can loop Genshin with the Lunar while your partner gets Elizabet's attention you will have a much easier time. Once Genshin is defeated you will need to defeat Elizabet to complete the mission. 

Ultimate Ninja 01

Arguably the hardest team mission in the game. Ultimate ninja 1 pits you against Alexia, Volf and Elizabet at the same time! then when 2 bosses are defeated Zedonius comes in. 

As far as strategy is concerned the host must be able to kill Volf as quickly as possible while the other partner twirls with Rachel. To twirl you need to hold L1 dash in any direction and move both L3 and R3 in the same direction and repeatedly tap L1. By doing this you are invulnerable to the enemies attacks.

Once Volf is taken care of try to kill Alexia next using the same method as described in Master Ninja 03. Then focus on Zedonius if you can beat Zedonius only Elizabet remains.

Ultimate Ninja 02

The second most difficult mission. As soon as the mission starts the host must go to the left and shoot the 3 archers with the bow and arrow whilst the team mate keeps the boss occupied. Once the archers are cleared out if you have the Tonfa use the same combo for Master Ninja 02.

When the wave is beaten immediately chant an Ultimate nimpo if you time it right the next wave will appear and be killed except the boss. If you have the Tonfa use the Forward, Triangle, Triangle, L1, Triangle combo.

The next wave chant another Ultimate Nimpo and defeat the boss. If the boss starts to chant charge an Ultimate technique and release as soon as she fires them at you. If she starts going into a spin simply block and dash the last hit then if you perform a Flying Swallow you can temporarily stun the boss and use the Square, Triangle, Square, Square, Triangle combowith the Tonfa.

The final wave consists of 3 Fallen Genshin's if your partner can twirl then you can fight the remaining Genshin 1 on 1 if you win then you have to pick another off your team mate. Once all 3 Genshin's are defeated the mission is complete. 

Ultimate Ninja 03

This is a very hard mission to beat. As soon as the mission begins cast an Ultimate Nimpo then both players must choose a Buddha Statue to destroy. Once they are taken care of the next wave will begin consisting of 2 Statue of Liberty's.

If you have the Howling Cannon then you will be fine as long as your partner can twirl with Rachel in the centre of the 2 bosses. The player with the Cannon needs to go to a corner and shoot the statue at the far end. Once the first is taken out move to the other side and repeat. 

Ultimate Ninja 04

This is by far the easiest Ultimate Ninja mission. As soon as the mission begins cast an Ultimate Nimpo and as long as you can both loop with either the Lunar Staff or the Enma's Fang this level will be completed in less than a minute as there are only 2 enemies to kill for mission complete.

Ultimate Ninja 05

The final mission isn't too hard as long as you adopt the right strategy. In my experience there are 2 ways of completing Ultimate Ninja 05. You can either loop the first 3 Bosses with Izuna Drops and loop the last 2 on the last wave or you can use the Eclipse Scythe with Ryu while your partner twirls to get all 3 of their attention while you spam Ultimate techniques with the Scythe at distance and repeat the same technique for the second wave.

Chapter 11 – Obaba

Obaba is a mysterious witch who is apart of the Black Spider clan. She has a nasty habit of jumping around the battlefield. If you see her chanting you can either charge up a Ultimate technique or you can perform an i-frame (L3 360 degrees and Triangle). If your fighting her up close she will attack generally 2 or 3 times after that you can attack her.

If she tries to grab you, you can perform a flying swallow which has a chance to stun her this move is useful when she lands on the ground or tries to grab you. When she is stunned use the Square, Square, Square combo but be careful as as soon as she gets back up she will try to grab you.

 

Chapter 12 – Black Dragon

The Black Dragon isn't too difficult but there are some important moves to stop you from taking damage. If the dragon raises his front legs he is about to create a pool of fire underneath you so i would suggest you jump out of the way.

If he flies up in the air he will land with tremendous force therefore is you perform a i-frame or an Ultimate technique you will be fine as long as you time it right. One of the most difficult moves to evade is when the dragon dashes across the screen leaving a trial of fire in its path. I have seen players using Square and X together but its difficult to time.

Finally once you get his life to around 40% you have the chance to perform a Obliteration technique which will slice the dragon's tail off. However once this has been cut off the dragon will send fire through its body preventing you from hurting him so i would suggest you go for the legs.

Chapter 13 – Elizabet

I would strongly recommend you have the Eclipse Scythe upgraded to level 3 and perform on-landing Ultimate techniques to wither her life down. To perform an on-landing Ultimate technique jump and as soon as you land hold Triangle. As long as you keep your distance you can kill her by repeating this process.

When i fight her i simply get to a safe distance perform an on-landing Ultimate technique then evade her attack if need be and repeat until she dies. However you can use the Dual Katana's i-frame whenever she is about to start a combo but this requires immense timing as if you mistime you are most likely dead. 

Chapter 14 – Genshin Round 3

Although you fight Genshin at the end of Chapter 14 you will also encounter several other bosses along the way including the Tengu brothers and 2 Rasetsu's.  When your fighting the Tengu's if you have the Tonfa upgraded you can use the combo Forward, Triangle, Triangle, L1, Trianglethis will deal massive damage to them. As for the Rasetsu use the Tonfa and use the combo Square, Triangle, Square, Square, Triangle.

Chapter 15 – Marbus

Marbus is the greater fiend of the underworld and is able to summon minions to aid him in battle. If your playing on harder difficulty's i would suggest using your nimpo to dispose of his minions.

Chapter 15 – Zedonius

The same method of fighting Zedonius is still the same as before however this time around you are fighting on a small island surrounded by lava. If you jump across to the island on your left the minions that Zedonius will summon can't reach you therefore you can fight him 1 vs 1.

Chapter 15 – Volf

As long as you use either the Dual katana's loop by using Forward, Triangle and hold Triangle and repeat you should be fine or you can rotate L3 360 degrees and press Triangle whenever the boss is about to grab you or attack you.

Chapter 16 – Tengu Brothers/Rasetsu and Alexia

As long as you use the strategy's i have mentioned above you will be absolutely fine. The Tengu fight can be difficult as you fight them both in a short narrow corridor which makes this fight pretty tough as you don't have much space to move. 

Chapter 17 – Fiend Genshin

This is Genshin's stronger form he is more aggressive and can break through your block with his fire attacks. If you use the Tonfa's upgraded to level 3 and use the combo mentioned in master ninja 03 you will be fine.

Chapter 17 – Elizabet

Normally Elizabet is a pain in the arse but you fight her after you have killed Fiend Genshin fortunately for you his body is still on the battlefield. Try to lure Elizabet to the corpse and she won't be able to get through to you if your standing on the other side. Then if you upgraded the Eclipse Scythe to level 3 you can simply perform Ultimate techniques to kill her. 

Chapter 17 – Dagra Dai

Dagra Dai is the infernal priest of the underworld who is also responsible for trying to resurrect the Archfiend from its eternal slumber. Dagra Dai is a formidable adversary he can not only summon fiends to aid him but he can disappear and re-appear in any direction.

In my experience the easiest way to beat him is to use the Dual katana's at level 4 and rotate L3 360 degrees and press Triangle whenever he is chanting magic as you are invulnerable to attack while performing this move.   

Chapter 17 – Archfiend lower form

This is the first battle against the Archfiend surprisingly the only weapon you will need to defeat him is the Fiend's Bane bow. After you shoot the head blood will come pouring down at you but his chest will light up. After you have dodged the blood shoot the chest.

If the boss tries to shoot a laser beam through his chest then you can either dodge it by dashing or jumping out of the way or you can perform a 360 degree move. Unlike the other boss battles once you wear his life down to certain intervals you will need to scale the mountain to reach him before you can fight him again.

Chapter 17 – Archfiend True form

Welcome to the final battle this guy is a pain on master ninja difficulty. One of the most annoying moves is when the Archfiend punches the ground 3 or 4 times in rapid succession you can jump at the right time to avoid being hit but you need great timing.

He can also fly away from you and shoot fireballs at you which can easily be evaded however if you try to fight him up close he has a tendency to grab you and he will try to grab you often.

The best opportunity you have to attack him is when he is walking towards you. You can also hit him a few times when he tries to grab you but if your playing on the hardest difficulty setting he will kill you in a single grab so you need to be patient when you fight him.

For me, the hardest difficulty is Dante Must Die!/Vergil Must Die!. Heaven or Hell is incredibly easy, but getting SS ranks on the missions is freaking hard. (Heaven or Hell is that mode where everything – including you- dies in one hit)

Devil May Cry 4's Hell or Hell mode is really hard. Seriously, having to spend a lot of time killing enemies while not getting hit once (it's the same as Heaven or Hell, but the enemies are not killed in one hit, only you ) is a test of patience and controller-preserving.
