Not that I am aware of, but I don’t think you need to. Except if you want to play DVD’s becasue Bluray disks arn’t regionised in the same way as DVDs. You can play a bluray disk from the EU on a USA ps3, but you’ll need a second PS3 account that is of the EU to play dlc for it. For example, you get Killzone from EU, and you by the new map packs on the PSN shop but your account is American. It wouldn’t work. But if you got an EU account then it would work.
So I dought that your PS3 can be ‘chiped’ as of yet, because the information about the region is on the disk and online, but I think it might be able to be ‘chiped’ in the near future for DVD’s. But who would use a DVD on their PS3? Once you go Bluray, there is no going back.
