Re: Assassins Creed 3
Whoa, dude, I was just trying to make a bad joke. I still like the series, just not enough to spend $60 on it every year. HD Remakes are different than yearly games in that HD Remakes tend to market themselves as having better graphics and trophy support. So you pay a heavily discounted price and you get a game that delivers 100% on those two promises. Yearly games are marketed as being better than previous titles, but you won't know until you try it. Is Madden 13 better than Madden 12? Is Revelations better than Brotherhood? Is it worth $60 to find out? So I did AC2 and Brotherhood around the same period of time, so when Revelations rolled around, I felt that $60 wasn't worth it to find out if it was $60 better. When it's cheap and I'm in the AC mood, I may pick it up. Some people like Madden and Call of Duty enough that $60 is a worthy expense to play a game that may or may not be better, but the scenery's different. Which I guess is why people buy map packs.
I have been getting upset at the fact that people will buy yearly releases instead of new experiences or heavily improved games or whatever, but I think I've just come to an understanding here and can hopefully start making peace with that fact.
Now the HD Remakes are the exact same game that I played before, but the two differences (marketing aside) are that the game is heavily discounted and it's been 6 years or more since I last played it. At that point, the game's basically all new to me again.
Also, have you played a fair portion of Okami? You're getting mad at me for having not played AC3 and thinking Okami is better, but have you played enough Okami to know that AC3 is better than Okami? I know you haven't played any Zelda games, which at least have a few similarities to Okami. I've played AC2 and Brotherhood, which have core similarities to AC3. It's fine if you want to say a game you've played is better than a game you haven't played, but you can't do that and get mad at me for doing it. Also, if you say that you never said that, you can't get mad at me for that either, because I never said Okami was better than AC3.
