Haven't felt that amount of hype since TDKR!
Both films were hyped, and both didn't live up to it.
We'll always disagree on movie choice. That much I remembered from our conversation/debates but I seem to remember one factor that you brought up that nearly brought me to tears of laughter. Is Skyfall too mainstream?

Maybe that's not such a bad thing. If you really miss them, they all seem to hail from Wisconsin, so I guess I could go spread the site around…

No one playing BO2????
I am. It's OK. I was impressed with the original Black Ops storytelling considering it's trappings as an FPS. The new story has choice based storytelling interestingly enough. Sadly, I'm making all the bad choices and almost all the failures have been committed. I've chosen to do Veteran first time through and my ending will suffer for it
Vet's not that bad, though. Much better than the dreadfull MW3 DLC batch I bought. I've only been stuck at a single checkpoint for a maximum of 10 minutes!gr8jrfan
MemberHave to restart my playthrough of AC3 due to the Encyclopedia of the Common Man glitching. It's a good game but are glitches really excusable in a game that they've been developing for three years? C'mon Ubisoft!

MemberGoddamn, there's a lotta content in AC3. After beating the game with 100% sync for the main missions, I've been engaged in at least 15+ hours of side content. It's crazy and I'm enjoying a majority of it. Also, I did all the singleplayer Mortal Kombat Vita stuff, hundreds of hours of time, thousands of fatalities, challenge towers, hidden ladder fights, and Online Ranked trophies a while back but I was disapointed to see one key feature of the online wasn't changed from the PS3 version. If a person rage quits(and they especially do in the Vita port for some reason) you do not get credit for the match and it's counted as a loss. I can take on all the hilariously cheap Shao Kahn AIs but I certainly can not influence frustrated human behavior. So I put out a boosting request a couple weeks ago for the 100 wins and remaining X Rays and I didn't get any replies for a long time. It was a shame to see all that hard work for nothing but NOW I DO AND HE'S FREAKING AWESOME!!! I can taste the plat now!!

MemberAfter finishing AC3, I spent more time on Liberation, the Vita Assassin's Creed. I'm fairly disapointed with it but I probably shouldn't have set my expectations so high for it. One perk it has on the console version is that it actually gets going immediately with the action for what it's worth. In the console version it takes approximately 3 hours to even be Connor. Even though there's a good reason for that, the first couple hours were pretty slow. In the first ten minutes of Liberation I had already killed six people and jumped from a building and as a 12 year old even!

MemberI just saw Argo today and it was pretty good. There were no scenes that really draaaaaggggeddd it out and affected the pace, the last scene was also suspenseful as sh!t. The acting was actually pretty decent too. There was one bit of dialogue that almost made me laugh in the theater was when Ben Affleck was like, “I'll be the director” then John Goodman said, “No way you'll be the director. You look more like a producer, no, assistant producer!” Then Ben Affleck looked really offended. Awesome… Can't believe the UK peeps get to see Skyfall early! Have to wait til the 9th at least!

Member@Seibei4211 I, like you, was just making a joke and I'm by no means angry at you but I found that joke a good opportunity to maybe clear up a misconception of a lack of change in AC3. Because really ACR is almost an exact copy of ACB but I think the 3rd actual entry deserves some credit. Some people think the series is milked and I'd be inclined to agree with them had AC3 not feel like a fresh new entry in the series. And @scotty243 Yes, I have bought HD Collections and they hold value through the reasons that Patrick stated and for buying HD Collections I think I have to withhold the “that game looks weak because it's the same as the last one” argument…

Assassin's Creed Unleashed Returns: Revenge of the Reloaded Revelations – Remastered Redux Edition.
Says the guy who literally bought the same game twice. That's right, folks, he bought Okami HD on release and he believes that it is a superior product to Assassin's Creed 3!! Well from a person who's actually played the game and knows a thing or too about it, I can tell you this: THERE'S A LOTTA FCUKING CHANGE! Almost too much for my tastes, really. For starters, they completely redid the combat system. Counters are now on Circle and when you do successfully counter, time slows to a halt to allow you to decide what method of punishment you will inflict on your assailant. You can shoot him, disarm him, throw him, or normally counterattack similarly from previous installments. Only this time, there's dozens of animations for doing so! Connor uses the environment at a breathtaking level from striking the foe twice to leaping off the wall for a third and final blow, or grabbing an oppenents arm and slamming him into a table or wire holding up a load of crates. He also uses the environment with his gadgets and weaponry. One specific example that I can share was when I saw a poacher at medium range on the ground. I was in a tree at the time and trying to experiment with my new toy, (a dart with a length of rope used to lewer in enemies) I threw the rope dart at him and instead of the predicted result, the dart lodged itself into the poacher's throat and Connor leapt off the tree, rope in hand. This caused the poacher to be hoisted up at an angle in the tree. It was quite possibly the most badass thing I've seen in the entire series. You can also do double counters, use human shields, go through the entire game using a firearm and loads of other improvements not possible in the past games. Navigation's improved, causing less accidental suicides, story length and quality are vastly improved, the setting is the most interesting and awesome to see Templars and Assassin's causing events from my 8th grade history class. I thought the hunting and naval combat would be some lackluster mechanic shoehorned in to give the game more depth (cough, ACR Tower Defense, cough) but they're actually extremely well handled! For hunting you have to actually creep up in brushes of leaves, use bait and traps, and just other things that make the hunt feel like more of a hunt than say, Red Dead Redemption. The steering and naval combat is not as clunky as I thought it'd be. For manning the helm just to sail, you have to take into account wind and other factors that make it authentic and way less boring than what I expected from it. Naval combat is intense. With every enemy shot, you have to brace for cover and both the enemy's and your ship is being slowly torn apart with every cannonball. One last change that I think I should mention is Desmond. Desmond's no longer just a slouch! Without giving too much away, between Animus sessions, he'll be sent out for things such as power sources and artifacts. One mission has him parachuting off a skyscraping crane arm into a fight with an armed Templar! Props, Desmond! Props! So in conclusion, I just wasted twenty minutes typing up improved and new mechanics for AC3. But what the hell?! I love the game and I'll gladly speak on it's behalf since it is the most changed and probably best of the Assassin's Creed franchise. I recommend it for what it's worth… Don't listen to Patrick who hasn't even played the game! Sorry for the novel everybody! Peace!

Just finished Silent Hill Downpour, it was actually pretty good.
The only fun I had with that was when I was laughing myself silly with the limpdick scares, convoluted plot, crappy rain effects (in a game called DOWNPOUR, lightning should not tint the world blue for a second!) and beyond wonky melee system. But hey, at least you found enjoyment out of a less than stellar game haha.

MemberWhat's your guys' take on the Abe Lincoln movie? I think Abe's awesome and all but it looks a tad boring, and more designed for critical acclaim and loads of awards. And can someone clarify if this is before, after, or during when he hunted vampires?
