MemberThere's a cool dictionary game coming out that explains loads of words and terms like 'forum', 'thread' and 'on-topic'…

MemberIf yourself and your wife secretly hate yourselves you could try Damnation. After a few hours of playing it you'll feel the need to squirt bleach into the disc slot on your PS3…

MemberIf you want it so badly why don't you set up sub-accounts and register that way?
And a site that shows pictures of people with their prizes sounds like it's trying a bit too hard to be genuine…

MemberTrophies are synced with an online server so even if your lists have got the gay, once you sign back in they should be okay. My fatboy has been affected but I turned on a slim and even though I hadn't synced that in months it still found all of my trophies.
That said, I was playing Borderlands when PSN crashed and a couple of trophies I should have earned (I was playing LAN co-op with my brother and he got them) didn't pop up.

MemberI've just searched the net myself and apparently it's routine maintenance. This looks true as some of the forums I came across had posts from the exact same date last year. It seems to be only knocking out the 60Gig model but it's causing a lot of hassle with trophies and corrupting themes.

MemberDon't know about the problem with your themes but one of my PS3s is getting the same error code.

MemberMiiiitch has covered most of the bases nicely so I'll try to tag on a few bits without repeating what he said.
First off, in point six you don't seem too fond of the inclusion of a blu-ray drive as it undoubtedly bumped up the price. But at the time of release the PS3 was cheaper than most of the good blu-ray players out there. It was an ideal way for gamers to upgrade to hi-def. It's still a bargain: only a few months ago I was buying a blu-ray home cinema system but found it was actually cheaper to but a DVD home cinema and a PS3 slim. I saved €200 and gained all the features of the PS3.
Most of the issues you raise in point five aren't actually problems at all. The slim comes with a wireless network adapter and the extra card readers in the front of the 60Gig model are all but obsolete. Nearly every gadget that uses them also has USB.
Point four is grand as long as you have a basic knowledge of HDDs. Sony had to make their console accessible for everyone and there are still a Hell of a lot of people that have zero technical know-how. Their console needs to be plug-and-play. A person can happily drive a car without a GPS but their console won't run too smoothly sans HDD.
Point two: I don't really care about the motion sensor in the controller. I do, however, enjoy not having to buy batteries or fork out for a charger pack
And finally, Miiiitch has shown that, extras included, the price between the current incarnations of the systems are not so different but you quoted the launch price of the PS3 and at that time to bring the 360 up to par required the Hi def drive which came out at €200.
Yes, you could have bought two Dell PCs for the same price. Good luck trying to run a decent game on them though

MemberIs it my sig you don't understand?

MemberThat's what I though. I was on 298 ore patches for nearly four months just driving around aimlessly. My brother was over recently and I gave him the controller while I was going for a shower. I didn't even have the water running when he knocked on the door and told me he'd found them!!!
I773D33MABL3
MemberI'd say trade in your YLOD when it's fixed and get a new console. You might be tempting fate to coax your PS3 back to life and then launch into a week long plat marathon

Dear playstation give me GOW 3, Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, FF13, Red Dead Redemption, GTA4 DLC for FREE! Also bring back the Twisted Metal series back.
I second that motion!! Those games were mental fun. How insane would they be online!!!
I773D33MABL3
MemberI think it worked so well in games like LBP and Uncharted because those games were fairly linear. You still had to search the environment but it didn't require endless wandering, hoping to stumble across an item. The 300 ore patches in Red Faction were a head-wrecker to find and the bound serpents in Brutal Legend still have me doing laps of the game.
And lets not forget Far Cry 2. Some times I get the urge to try and find all the diamonds but I've yet to hate myself enough
