I've had this game since it came out (before trophies). Ive since been hooked on collecting platinums and have 12.

I have decided to add GTA to my collection, i just have 1 question however, in order to get the game done in 30 hours or less, if i only do the main story will i be able to go back and do all the side missions, random characters, car exports, etc? Or will i have enough time to do them along side the main story, I dont really wanna be doin the game twice as it is so long!

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Focus completely on the main missions, skip every cutscene and always use taxis and skip the journey. I done this and finished in 15hrs 40 mins.

Lemme tell you this, it takes balls to make a guide of GTA IV lol..

Got my Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic trophy today, damn was i scared for a few seconds after that last race lol, but you really don't have to do it in 1 session, you might wanna add that, reason for that rimour to go into the world was when trophies for GTA IV just came out, to many people were racing at the same time, wich caused the servers to overload and data being lost, now the multiplayer is practically dead so theres no harm in doing it in multiple sessions.. And also very important, you have to win as a cop AND a crook in One For All AND All For One..

AWP is a very glitchy and buggy trophy, Congrats on getting it by the way. I tried for a few months to do it in multiple sessions until I had clocked up 5 wins on everything, so eventially I said screw it and did it in one session… … it didn't work, so in early June last year I started again and after a random Cannonball race *pop* Auf Wiedersehen Petrovic and my Platinum Trophy.

When writing the guide I decided to put in one way that I knew WOULD definately work. Rockstar I believe accidently duplicated some multiplayer accounts making it very difficult to do it in multiple sessions. So keep doing one session slogs and you WILL get it, but only do it in one session after you're sure that multiple sessions wont work.

BTW I can't believe I left out the thing about Cops 'N' Crooks that was one of the main problems for people. Well I can't do much about it as I can't edit the guide any more but thanks for pointing it out to me.

@gow2rules – definitely.  screw the skins.  just get the maps, for $4 its not bad at all.  The levels are pretty cool, I like that its always raining on the one, it looks really cool in HD.

@Redbren – Actually, I hate playing plunder on the facility – it just seems like the bag never gets anywhere because of that damn sub, and trying to go around it is stupid, you just get end up taking it further away from everything.

I am assuming by bag you mean treasure? Anyways I do agree that in order to get a win on Plunder on The Facility you might have to say FU to your K/D but I don't really mind about that anyways. Another problem on The Facility is people camping the treasure chest because there is direct access from above on both treasure chests.

For some reason though, it's really addictive and gets my blood-rushing in tight games, Y'know the whole “O God will I make it in time to stop them”.

For the price, absolutely, IMO.

The two new maps are the best in the game, I still think that now after the novelty has worn off, Plus I would nearly pay the price just for the Eddy Raja skin – It's awesome, he's the best character in the series. The Flooded Ruins is a very big map but it doesn't feel that way, in Deathmatch the action tends to take place in one half of the map so it's almost like two maps and The Facility is what Plunder was made for. You generally stick to the perimeters, but having to make a dash across the center, over the submarine to stop the enemies scoring is epicness.
