Look at the bottom part of the article: “Regarding universal voice chat, Eric Lempel says that he knows “it's one of the most requested features, and it is something we're looking into. It's a very complex feature, but we are looking into it.””

Yep, and this guy was right about firmware 2.8 back in June, and he was also right about the PS3 Slim.

I doubt this rumour aswell, because Sony have released details of the update, with no mention of it.

Don't quote me on this, it is just a rumour: Apparently, a Sony employee has said that they are working on cross-game voice chat. There is a small chance that it will be released in 3.00, but as i said, it is a rumour. Don't get too excited.
