For anyone who has the “can’t get Close Encounters trophy” problem:

I had this exact same problem, and it turns out the description isn’t fully accurate. Seems you have to survive at least 45 seconds without BOOSTING as well as shooting/bombing. I didn’t check to see if you could shoot after you passed the 45 second mark, but I’d either not shoot until you see the trophy get popup, or kamikaze as soon as you hit 45 seconds.

My guess is that the game checks to see if you attacked anything (as in, done damage to it), and the boost damages enemies just like everything else.

getting the 10 nukes in my opinion is based for the most part on luck, it just depends what waves you get, try and build up your multiplier so you can have extra lives, hope for shield tokens, and save your bombs for those damn red triangle things, the trick i learned for the 15 bombs trophy was tapping the pause button as fast as you can, it slows everything down and makes it 80% easier to avoid things, also, whenever you can, wait for two bomb ships to come and try and line both of them up, that way you get 4 bombs for one, instead of 2, if you can wait for two ships to come in the begining, you’ll be able to jump to 13 bombs instead of 11, again, a lot of luck involved, the most important thing is to keep trying, lots of luck goes into both

ARgh still have the 10 nuke and 15 bomb trophies to attein.
Frankly, I’m all up for trophies, but not when they’re more about luck than Skill. which make you quite obsessed about that shit trophy.. playing and playing nervously.. Where’s the pleasure and fun, playing ?? PLAYING ??

both trophies are more about luck. for the 15 bomb, YOU HAVE to repeat the video, that is, the second ship landing just near the 1 first.. if not, stop, restart, hope, if not, stop, restart, hope… crap for me..

The 10 nuke trophy, you’ve to do the 7minute trophy trick (again, restart until you have the flying things..) and more, to obtain dozen and dozen bomb..

That’s cheating to have stupid trophies/point..

But nothing’s perfect, Trophy as everything.. Just hope that dev will not just put near-impossible Gold trophies just attainable by teens being able to play 10h/per days..

I hope for trophies about SKILL, intelligence etc.. theses Trophies should be without description so that site like your would’nt ruin these ones (no attack, just thinking).

well, have fun playing games (not just for points/trophies)..
as of today, most people would rather buy a crap game with trophies than a good one without ..

devilBoy__86 you made my DAY! I started using the pause thing when after i destoryed the first 2 ships. Works like a charm. Although when you go to blow up a ship you have to stop pressing pause for a bit. I got so nervous the first time when I had 14 bombs that when the bomb ship landed i let 2 bombs go accidently!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn’t get a Platinum trophy though? I have 100percent completion.

I think sony should release a patch in which you unlock late boomer and shock and awe. I just tried late boomer today 100 times and maybe 1 in 15 times the 2 ships will be close enough to destroy them both with 1 bomb. It’s just all luck

Here is the best tip i can offer for late boomer,

The trick to destroying the SHIPS, are not to bomb them, only use a bomb if there are “2″ Ships next to eachother,

the way to destory the ship is by the red mines, red mines follow you, so if you circle around the ship it will make the ship explode,

Also, the rocks and mines that SPAWN are being drawn to Your ORIGINAL Location, so stand in front of the ship< and predict where the ship will go so the mines will spawn and be drawn to the ships next area

When trying to do that, Dont automatically destory all the rocks, wait it out. if you destroy the rocks, more will come with eniemies, only destrroy when necesary. or dont destroy at all, and just wait it out

what is the pause glitch and how do you do it help would be much appreciated btw my psn is xxHAWKxx

Late Bomber,
I did this last night, blooming hard though. My advice is to just keep trying! took me well over 3 hours to finally master it. its worth bearing in mind that the second bomb ship nearly always spawns in your screen, so just after the huge asteroid lands, accelerate ahead of the bomb ship youve been tailing… then once the new one lands the first should have caught up and you can bomb both together. fortunately i managed to destroy the 3rd bomb ship using only the red mines, so actually only used one bomb in the whole saga. That (as you can imagine) felt very very satisfying after wasting so much of my life.
As for platinum, as its been pointed out previoulsy PSN games wont have Plat trophies as far as im aware. Only retail games.

i only have 10 trophies from this one and there a pain in the @$$

late boomer and 10 nukes are the only ones i don’t have. those two are so hard…

the rest are fairly easy.

Extra Ships Optional should be Silver and Late Bomber should be Gold. They are much harder then we expected them to be.

Damn, “Late Bomber” is the hardest thing possible in a game. Nearly impossible! This trophy should be gold and you should receive lotsa money for gettin’ it!

Just broke my controller with that freaking late bomber trophy!

Yesterday I got the last and more difficult trophy, Late Bomber! I was luck to get 4 bombs without using any bomb, then I exploded the third bombship and got 15 bombs!! For those who hasn’t taken all trophies yet, keep trying because it’s not impossible! Regards.

If you ask me late bomber is just a case of luck, so in general the 10 nukes trophy is the hardest one! Freaking annoying!

played this a million times and still can’t get the “late bomber” and “shock and awe” trophies! anyone want to come to canada and get them on my system for me! geez! haha

got all of them but not “late bomer” amd “shock awe” lol same as most people but its just way too hard
