    @ideal4living
    i’ll admit fallout 3 was a slow starter but i spent 70+ excellent hours on it. Anyway this aint the fallout page so all i’ll say is the sacred ashes trailer looked awesome. I just wont have time to play this game any time soon so i might give it a miss. Shame

    I think this game looks sick. I’d totally pick it up if had a spare 80-something hours to waste on it. Unfortunately, I do not. Oh, well… Modern Warfare 2 is next week and that’s only 7 hours or so. That I can spare. =P

    November 4th, 2009 at 21:22 | #14

    7 hours? you wont be playing online then??
    Dragon Age looks amazing, and is picking up great scores all over the place. I have it on preorder and cant wait to play it. But i also loved Fallout3 :-)

    anyone knows anything about the hidden ones?

  17. BigWoopMagazine
    November 5th, 2009 at 16:20 | #17

    @Feitan44 – was wondering the same thing on both comments. Despite them both being RPG’s these games look to have a completely different playing style, setting, abilities, choices, etc. Some of the videos for this game look pretty cool… I’m wondering if the story comes through pretty solid or if it’ll fall flat. Sometimes these games give you so many choices lately that the story makes huge sacrifices as a result.

    @tridon
    7 hours? Why would u buy a game that has a massive online following for its one player part? Thats like going to the cinema just to eat popcorn.imo this game will take up less of people’s time than mw2.

    November 6th, 2009 at 02:09 | #19

    This game is fun already started to play it came out Nov 4 not Nov 17 like it was supposed to only down side to get a plat you have to play through a couple of times, you’ll understand by looking at the trophy list.

    November 6th, 2009 at 08:40 | #20

    What is this game about its not one of the stubid games where you get fake weapons and takes place in the future is it.

  21. Nath-The-Great
    November 6th, 2009 at 11:13 | #21

    No JJ, This game is set in Victorian era England and inside every gamepack there is a REAL weapon!! What the hell are you talking about man? lol at misspelling stupid heh

  22. JJ
    November 8th, 2009 at 22:33 | #22

    Just that a lot of games that look like this a futuristic and stupid those are the worst games.

  23. Commodore Pickle
    November 9th, 2009 at 17:01 | #23

    I pre-ordered DA:O and am about 30 hours into it. It’s really fun, and you feel like every decision you make in dialog changes something, because it does. It’s a tough burden, and you end up save whoring to try to find the best outcomes. Subsequently, no play-through is alike.

    How anyone could think this game is about “futuristic fake blah blah” is beyond me – it’s a fantasy RPG, and all of the artwork for it looks like that (isn’t “fake” sort of necessary for a game about magic?) Swords, dragons, demons, that’s what it’s about. Think of a cross between Final Fantasy XII and Diablo 2 (you have to manage a whole party’s leveling, but the game has plenty of loot drops and a limited backpack for inventory.) If you like RPGs, play this game. If you like MMORPG group hunting, definitely play this game. :)

    November 16th, 2009 at 15:15 | #24

    @Commodore Pickle: How does the game do on a console? Lots of my friends say that I should get it on the PC. But I wasn’t going to use the over the top camera, rather the third person camera.

  25. LIKEUCARE
    November 18th, 2009 at 10:10 | #25

    @Doctor_Rock

    I’ve bought the game on PS3 and it is great (for a console RPG). If my computer wouldn’t be old, I woulda taken it for PC. I saw the difference and the PC version is much superior. More customizations, higher resolution, superior graphics… heck, in fact, RPGS are meant to be played on PC. I’m disappointed that I couldn’t get it on PC but well, it’s still enjoyable nonetheless.

    So, if your rig ain’t too old and has decent hardware, consider getting DAO on PC.

    Oh and as for the “top camera”, it is a matter of personal taste. I prefer the “top camera” since I’m used to play RPGS on PC. Although, you do get used to the “third person camera”.

    Imo, this is the best ps3 rpg so far, fallout 3 or even oblivion would retain that title if they didn’t freeze up, too aggravating.

  34. Fony
    December 15th, 2009 at 13:22 | #34

    I was soooo undecided on this game, I waited for friends to buy and then get detailed impressions… I finally took the plunge…
    I’ve played so many RPGs, and it’s great to see a very ‘old school’ RPG arrive on a next-gen console…
    I did have a sneak go of the PC version first, and they are very different games (which I won’t go into).
    All I want to say is – go buy this game, it’s brilliant, it’s immersive, it has such depth, the trophies – who cares about trophies – it’s about the game, forget trophies, multiplayer, etc. etc. this is pure single-player bliss with so much replayability it’s scary. Okay so the MAIN storyline is a bit predictable – it’s the interwoven characters, all the things that happen between beginning and end that make this game such a triumph. This is one of the few games I won’t be swapping. Ever.

    @Fony
    With you I can talk. I have nothing to add. I finished 2 playthroughs now (1. rogue, dual swords) (2. warrior, archer) and got 82% trophies now its the best game ive ever played.

    add me if you want

    @Feitan44
    1st hidden trophy is unknown to me, second one is A gold called “A Dark Promise” Details: “Defeat the archdemon and, through a dark ritual with morrigan, spared your own life”. Last is silver called “Dragonslayer” Details: “Defeated the dragon guarding the Urn of Sacred Ashes”. I believe the first one is Ultimate Sacrafice were you dont do the ritual and die.

    January 3rd, 2010 at 19:32 | #37

    @Divinious
    Lol my bad, dragonslayer is under archmage, the one under blight-queller is a Broonze called “Defender” and Details: “Preserved the lives of half the troops at Denerim’s Gates in “The Final Battle”" ;-)

  39. GTAfear
    January 29th, 2010 at 18:41 | #39

    Yeah, I have a question…
    Do the Darkspawn spawn on random places (by “random” I do not mean in cities, but for example, in forests and caves…) or you can kill them only when you’re on a mission or a quest? And one more, final question… Would you recommend the game or not?
    Thx in advance!

  40. TAZERED
    February 4th, 2010 at 00:36 | #40

    @GTAfear
    the darkspawn only appear in journeys and quests and you cant really free roam apart from in main locations.

    the game is time consuming but has a very good story. the trophies take a while and you will have to do 3 playthroughs to get platinum. but if you are a general rpg fan then its great.

  41. Dabouck
    February 13th, 2010 at 02:05 | #41

    Question, the trophies for like the job board quests and the killing 1000 darkspawn, are those added up across all play throughs? Or do you have to obtain them in one?

  42. messy_one
    February 23rd, 2010 at 16:46 | #42

    for the 1000 darkspawn i think its across all play throughs

    there are dlc trophies too in clouding diabolist siding with the old mage, one fore siding with demon lady, getting shale, and starting her quest, im at 66% cause i havent really tried making an {evil} character to get slayer and ally of branka i suggest doing paragon of her kind before getting shaale if you choose to side with psycho woman cause shale be fights you, or leaves you

    March 5th, 2010 at 14:21 | #45

    The game updated last night and now the new trophies are listed even though the new expansion is not available yet. I am curious if you must purchase the expansion and complete the trophies within to get the platinum trophy now. It appears so, and there is a trophy just for buying the expansion. As much as I love the game, I do not like being forced to buy things. I was two trophies away from the platinum and now I fear that I am $15-$20 and several trophies away now!! I think this may be the last BioWare game I ever buy… :cry:
