A New Sony PSN Plan
Sony wants to launch $40 versions of the full $60 retail game on PSN, like Warhawk, burnout, etc.
i think this could work great as long as they still release it in retail, for those people who dont have a credit card. I also think its great that they are selling it directly to you, taking out the middle man (store that you buy the game at), making it $20 cheaper. However, you can never return it, or trade it in like a lot of people do. Unless Sony thinks of some way to do that.
what are your guys thoughts?
this might be off topic but do you think Sony will make an update where we have something like “Ps3 arcade” like how the shitbox has?
i think its a good idea (esp. the part where its cheaper ), but we'll all have to get new HDD s ….it would be cool if you could copy a game from your HDD onto an external one , because even with 300GB , how many retail games could you fit on that ( gta install is 4GB , plus the game ) , maybe they could have the copy be linked to the ps3 it came from somehow , so the people at sony wouldnt worry about us just trading USB keys with games… but it would be cool to be able to backup s/thing you buy on PSN.
except this isn't sony making these predictions, it's a senior video business analyst.
and we all know predictions don't always come true.
I'd like to see it happen, but sony makes it's money (in the ps3 department) with it's games, and not the console. if they can get more money selling the games at the normal price, then that's what they'll do. but m guessing if they realise it's more profitable to just put the content on psn without the use of publishing the game onto the disc, then there's a chance they might do it still.
personally, I'd still buy the retail disc version.
