So, with some of us boosting MOH together and what not, I was wondering why not get together for a 4 player playthrough of Aliens: Colonial Marines? I know, this isn't the AAA shooter of next year and the blockbuster everyone has been waiting for, along with that, there are definitely other games arriving on the scene that are well worth our time as well. I thought this game would be kind of cool for some of us to play together since it features a 4 player co-op campaign and is based off of one of the most influential films of all time. Anyways, no one HAS to pick up this game day one as I'd hate to see $60 wasted if this game was shit. Rental is great and if you guys are interested, I'll look into a discounted price on Amazon or something. Hopefully this game doesn't have an online pass so if some of us aren't interested in finishing this list, or don't want to waste the money, then that's awesome.
Here's the story trailer if you're unfamiliar with what this title is about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQTxxCnMWJwJanuary 1, 2013 at 10:04 am #72632
I liked the way you described the pitch to me so I'm totally down for it one way or the other. “I just think it'd be cool if it was difficult or something and we had to plan and sh!t…” LOL
I'm going to force myself to get the 100% and I'll pre-order it regardless if it's crappy or not. Can't be any worse than Duke Nukem, right? I remember flipping shit over that… I'm optimistic about this one, though. Borderlands 2 was awesome and from what I'm told, Aliens is too.
Seems a worthy job for the Coalition, I think. Those aliens are fcuked.January 1, 2013 at 7:27 pm #72635
I kind of realized it seems I listed down all the reasons of why not to pick the game up
The trophy list will be the same as this, but the golds and silvers have yet to be specified. It's a generic list with all modes featured, too, but the trophy names are awesome.January 4, 2013 at 2:01 am #72650I773D33MABL3Member
As long as Kristoff isn't too poor to buy the game we should be good to go on this. I was planning on getting it anyway but I hadn't realised there was co-op.January 10, 2013 at 9:57 pm #72684
Going to attempt to watched the 2 classics before I pop this one in. Hopefully I'm not disappointed with either the films or game.January 30, 2013 at 2:59 am #72857
While this trailer is very piss poor, I'm still incredibly hyped and my chest is literally bursting with excitement I can't wait to participate in last stands while my crew goes on without me, of course in the most kick ass way possible. Hopefully the tension is on full blast on this game, I want to have that thought in the back of my head knowing that if we're overrun, I sure as hell better save a bullet just for myself This is going to be kick ass!January 30, 2013 at 4:49 am #72859
This is going to be hilarious.January 30, 2013 at 11:47 pm #72861emdeepeeMember
So what's the deal with this then? Are people considering buying this or are we looking at renting it for the play through?January 31, 2013 at 12:41 am #72862I773D33MABL3Member
Well I'm buying it anyway.January 31, 2013 at 1:17 am #72864
Whatever's up to you, I suppose. I'd suggest saving your cash just in case as I could have this backfire on me and be a steaming pileJanuary 31, 2013 at 6:50 am #72867
Well I'm buying it anyway.
I second this. Geez, scotty, for the one who wanted us to get it you're not showing much confidence here. What's the worst that could truly happen? Even if it is a steaming pile, and it won't be, we'd be suffering together! And the Coalition are well versed in that…January 31, 2013 at 9:08 pm #72873
I'm not showing much confidence? I just posted a lovely paragraph of my bursting excitement for this game Lol, Although it seems now my mood has change from when I first compiled this thought thinking we would play an alright decent game and joke around with it, I'm actually truly hyped up for this with it nearing to be probably my most anticipated. Yes, there are other games coming out which I know will be good, but this has a certain potential that could revolutionize and probably evolve the whole “movie game” assumption and hopefully could be a potential pathway for films or even TV shows that end but still have just piles of mythos, etc. that they could continue in a video game. I probably sound like an idiot, however this game could potentially be something more than I expected at earlier stagesFebruary 9, 2013 at 3:10 pm #72920
And I thought Dead Space 3 was taking it too far…February 11, 2013 at 7:06 pm #72925emdeepeeMember
Early reviews seem to suggest that this is gonna bomb (4/10, 5/10 etc). Think I'll save my £30 for Disney InfinityFebruary 12, 2013 at 1:43 am #72927
I'll get it anyway; mostly because it's too late to cancel the pre order. Oh well, I've played worse.
