Bought maps location question…

I've just started playing some of the SP for this game and i must say it's pretty cool, but one thing is annoying me and i was wondering if anyone could help…
So far I've bought 2 maps from general stores – 1 from the store located at Macfarlane's Ranch for Hennigan's Stead, and 1 from Thieves' Landing for Rio Bravo – Now it says in their description that they shall reveal every location in said area once used… But I've used them both and it has made NO difference to my map that i can see, although after i do use one the game saves and says “all locations in 'wherever' unlocked” – but like i say, no icons or anything show up…
Am i missing something here or should a load of icons be showing up on my map, i mean, that's the normal thing for “maps that reveal locations” to do right? I'm asking because if my game is glitched or anything I'm not that far in so i could re-install or start over without having to replay lots of missions…
I did do a quick Google search but i couldn't find anything, any info on this would be appreciated
Right… So your trying to tell me that no-one is playing this at the moment to tell me what's going on?
All i need to know is if the maps bought from the general stores should reveal anything on the pause menu map or not?
