Sweeeet! I love ghostbusters and I was born in the 80s… so I don't think I watched it till the 90s, and I watched it like 2 weeks ago and those movies still rule! Man I need to work some overtime so I can pick this one up too! And then I need to not work overtime so I have time to play all these great games coming out this summer!May 27, 2009 at 10:51 pm #26883Domba_carMember
arent movie-based games kinda boring or stupid. its just what i read, I love ghostbusters myself.June 1, 2009 at 9:32 pm #27422BigWoopMagazineMember
domba – yes, traditionally they are, because they're tied to a movie license. This causes decisions on what goes in the game to be called by people who don't normally make games. These restrictions normally result in a very half assed turn out for two reasons: 1) It focuses on remaining as true to the movie as possible, leaving out the idea that a game should be fun, and 2) the game developers have no creative say in what to do, and thus care much less about the outcome of said game. However, this game is NOT attached to a movie license, so those two problems go right out the window. It is simply meant to be a sequel to the movies, is written by the same guys that wrote the originals, so should have a decent plot, and has all the correct voice actors. Theres a lot of potential for a great game here, since the only real boundaries is that they manage to form a coherent story line, which shouldn't be difficult. Lets cross our fingers and hope its a worthy addition to the franchise.
