PixelJunk Monsters Trophy Guide
*IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ*
Ok, a long time ago (before trophies came out) I was going to do a guide for this game on Gamefaqs, but quit as It was way too time consuming. I tried to make a perfect guide that told you what towers to have where at the beginning of each wave, but found after doing a guide for one level, it is too difficult to follow it exactly.
So this guide contains tips about what I found to be the most important towers/strategies on each level. Chances are you won't get EVERY trophy on the 1st try, but stick with it and you should be able to get them after a few. Repeat plays are important as you should be a little experieneced with the monsters that come out. If you fail a challenge DO NOT QUIT RIGHT AWAY if you are new with that level! If something gets through on wave 9, play it to the end at least once or twice to make sure you don't get surprised later.
First off, lets nab those secret trophies real quick:
Construction Expert – BRONZE – Easy as pie! Just enter the normal game mode and go into level 'Easy 3 Prudence is key'. Just keep building arrow towers as quickly as possible and this trophy pops after you build 10 in 30 seconds.
Wave Goodbye – BRONZE – Also easy. Enter level 'Special 3 Eruption Destruction'. There is only 1 wave where Bees come out and they all cross over each other's paths to the upper right of the forest in the center. The exact location of your bomb is between the 2 circular dark green trees. Wait til they are all bunched together and blow the bomb. Trophy time! *DING*
Money Grubber – BRONZE – Ok, this one is not exactly EASY but it can be annoying. You have to just beat a normal level and do not let a single coin blink out and disappear. The only problem here is some coins can blink out behind the cover of trees and you don't know if you missed one until the level is over and the trophy dosen't pop. So, the way I got this one was by doing the 1st level and concentrate ALL your firepower on 1 spot of the map to try and kill everything as close as possible. If you have the speed potion, do not run when picking up coins because sometimes the coins can slingshot past you in the forest and you won't know. Trophy pops after the level is over.
Deep Impact – BRONZE – Surprisingly difficult. This youtube vid will show you step by step how to get it….It does need to be done perfectly. I tried to get this for a long time before checking youtube and could never find another spot. Anyways here's the link:

Ok, so that does it for the Secret ones. Now exit the normal game and go into trophy challenge mode. We'll do these in order.
Green Flag – BRONZE – Easy. Beat the level without any tower upgrading once. Not much to say here. Holding L1 shows you the upgrade progress of all towers onscreen. When one is getting close to leveling up, sell it and rebuild right away.
Scrooge – BRONZE – Easy. As soon as you get the gems run to the hut and buy the Interest upgrades right away. My favorite setup for this level is to just have 2 cannons spaced a little ways apart underneath the 1st path where the monsters enter. That way the cannons shoot up and down, doubleing their effectiveness. For all other monsters, build arrows and anti-airs wherever you want. If you get to 20% interest bonus fast enough you'll clear this with 1000's to spare.
Bomb the Boss – BRONZE – This ones not bad. I build alot of cannons at the entrance and arrows all over the rest of the map. One anti air gun around the center (note – make sure you always stand on your AA towers…green AA towers are not very effective….try to get it to purple at least). Before the boss comes out, SELL EVERYTHING! If he gets tagged by an arrow or cannon, you fail the challenge. You can only damage him with the bombs (Square to drop, Square again to detonate). And obviously, PICK UP ALL GREEN GEMS and save them.
Gem Hoarder – BRONZE – Two main defensive positions on this map. The group of six trees in the center, and the trees above the path before the Hut. In the center I mainly build cannons and an anti air tower. On the path i build cannons again. Have arrows all over the map as well. Try to stand on your AA tower to get it to purple. When you get that hop on the cannons and go for purple as well. When the boss comes out you can sell the purple ones you have to get an extra gem if you're short.
Picky Eater – BRONZE – Getting tougher! FOUR main defensive areas here.
1) Trees above and below the entrance – Build 2 lasers on the bottom and cannons on the top.
NOTE – The lasers have to be on the LAST TWO trees to the right here. If you can get em to black, they'll barely let any fliers into the map.
2) Group of five trees just past the entrance – Arrows are good here
3)The LONG winding path of trees leading to the Hut – Cannon City!! Build a cannon on practically every tree along this path.
4)The single, lonely tree to the left of the hut. A laser here (max lvl) will kill any missed Bats, Sycamores/bees that decide to be douches and not get killed by your lasers at the entrance.
Only other tips – The cannons don't damage the shielded Pines very well…you're gonna use some bombs to make up for the fire towerlessness. Also, at the begining RUN to the entrance and build the cannons quickly, and build an AA tower around the base and stand on it. You can sell the AA after you get lasers.
No Crossing – BRONZE – Not alot of running around here thankfully. 2 main defensive positions are:
1) The horizontal path after they cross the bridge
2) The horizontal path to the Hut after the fliers cross the river.
You need lasers on the top and cannons on the bottom. Of course you'll have the few arrows covering all paths as well, but you can use mines just in case, and a perfect clear is not necessary.
Tower Collector – BRONZE – Ah my favorite level! This is barely a challenge. Just a lot of fun. Just beat the level and have ALL TOWER TYPES STANDING at the end of the level. If you only bought one AA tower and sold it to get $$$ for lasers REMEMBER to rebuild it. If you're having trouble with this level, here are some tips:
1) Lasers and Fire towers are the most important. I have 3 black laser towers (one above the hut, one above the path on the right side of the screen, and one in the middle).
2) When you start getting alot of cash you NEED to stuff fire towers all over the bottom path to the hut. You can sell off all cannons (except for one of course!) and replace them with Fire.
Get Medieval – SILVER – Most important part of this level is the location of your arrows and cannons. I place arrows on all trees touching and around the hut, and most should get upgraded to black. Other than that, build cannons on the trees above the path on the left and right side of the “heart”. Some cannons and arrows should also be built on the groups of trees on the top right and left side of the screen too. I have all cannons with one arrow on each side. Use any extra cash you have to place more cannons and arrows surrounding the path…any area you feel is lacking.
4 Tree Rainbow – SILVER – This one can be pretty tough!! Lets call the trees from left to right: Mortimer, Johansen, Lucas Porthander and Finny McTavish….actually thats gonna get confusing quickly. Let's just cal them 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Okay, So first off you build arrows on 1 and 2. These arrows are where you will be standing for as long as possible as they HAVE to get to black. Don't spend any gems on them either. Trees 3 and 4 are going to be changing alot. Depending on whats coming, you will constantly be tearing these down to change to cannons (for pines), arrows (bats, spiders and sycamores) or fire towers (green sheilded monsters).
On an interesting side note, when you are making them fire towers DO NOT let them upgrade to yellow. When they are yellow, tree 4 will fire to the left when you don't want it to and it won't shoot again when the monsters are on the way into the hut. Now you will use a bomb at least one point too, so be prepared.
Finally to beat the boss you need 4 black mortar towers (If they are all black when the boss comes out, you dont need mines, they will definitely kill him). If you cannot get them all to black you can still perfect clear it with a couple black, and you may have to sell the towers when he is permanently out of range (I say permanently because he takes a wavy path to the hut, turns around and goes back to the entrance, and then takes a wavy path back to the hut again… on his 2nd time going right when he clears the mortar range you can sell it and collect whatever gems its worth to use for a bomb).
Rainbow Team – GOLD – This level is brutal! It took me about 200 tries to finally get this one (once again, back before the trophy patch came out…when the patch was released and I had to rainbow this again, i nearly crapped myself…fortunately I got it on the 2nd try…I recall weeping tears of Joy. Anyways, enough BS.
OK, first off I build 4 cannons next to the path on the trees above the hut. The 3rd cannon lvls up quickly as it gets alot of kills. On the other side of the center path I build arrows on each tree.Sycamores come up and I try to have one AA tower (upgraded to black, spend gems of course) at the top of the center path in the middle.
Beyond that you'll be building massive amounts of cannons on the top left and right side of the screen. At least 6 laser towers all over the map (most importantly, one black with a range that extends past the bottom of the Hut) and fire towers all over the map as well. The most important towers when you are getting close to the end are the fire and lasers. Keep them all at the highest level possible! Sell any arrows, AA or cannons and be ready to bomb if you need to.
So thats it for now. If you check the guide and are still having trouble with a specific trophy, leave a post saying so and I'll try to help you further. If something in the guide doesn't make any sense, please point that out as well and I will try to make it more coherent. If your lawnmower is disfunctional, don't fix it in a drunken stupor. You need those thumbs to get more trophies, well…at least until Dance Dance Revolution comes out. Enjoy!
